PSA: The blindspot checks are not just for your test. When you've passed and do any maneuvers on your own, do all your observations. All to common to see people forget others exist on the roads when they don't have an instructor or examiner in their car.

When I was learning to drive, around 10 years ago, I was taught to park around 1ft away from the curb. I remember watching so many KZread videos to learn how to parallel park so I could park closer to the curb or so I don't get hit by other cars driving past, on narrow roads

You can also do this using your mirror and the rear door handle. When the rear door hand in the mirror lines with the curb edge turn the wheel until the car straightened (my dad taught me how to parallel park with only 3 wheel turns and this tip and I can park in a paper cut for 26 years!)

Nice vid I'd like to give a good guide point which I sometimes use during the parallel park. When I turn my car one turn to the left I find a good guide point for when I steer the other way when the curb is no longer visible in the left mirror. This guide point can be a bit deceiving sometimes as it depends on the angle of the pavement/road, the car you drive and also the height of the driver but personally I find it to be a reliable thing to consider when doing the parallel park so when it vanishes in the mirror do a check to properly judge the distance before turning the other way. IDK if this is a good thing to do but so far it has not failed :)

  • @cloudshifter

That is if the parking isnt tight and you got like 30 meters to park. If you got two cars forward and behind and you're trying to park just right by having at best 2 meters difference from both cars, things get a bit more tricky.

Wdym? Adjustments after you notice you didn’t quite get it right? If you do that spontaneously without hindering or endangering other traffic, do it! Makes you appear confident, aware and capable of correcting your own mistakes. If you meant stopping exactly at some point to make it easy for yourself, absolutely! You don’t have to just plop it in reverse and smack the car in the gap. As long as you don’t unnecessarily stop, why not? You can also give yourself a little extra room (like 0 > x (Stopping in the middle of your actions without good reason will make the examinator evaluate your actions negatively)
