How To Paint Your Wheels / Rims - Tutorial

If you want to paint your wheels / rims the easiest way, this is the best tutorial for you. It will take you a full day, but if you do this right, your ride will look much better.
The materials costs between $30 and $50, depending on what materials you already have / need to buy (sand paper, wire brush, paint thinner, paper tape, primer, paint, lacquer).
You also should paint the brake calipers. With fresh painted rims and brake calipers the appearance of your ride will be improved :)

ziarul tau are dreptate. "Gandeste fresh!" 1-te felicit pentru munca depusa si pentru reusita dar 2- inca se mai vad mici imperfectiuni. 3-ai de recuperat la partea cu vopsirea jantei si pe partea opusa dar si prin interior pe unde este montat cauciucul. Acuma, eu nu sunt mega meseriasul dar iti spun cum fac. Dupa ce am smilgheruit/ finisat janta o stergi logic cu diluant cu o laveta care nu lasa scame. O sufli cu aer sub presiune. Partea asta cu stersul si suflatul le faci intr-o incapere inchisa unde nu bate praful pe un suport ceva ma inalt(cel mai bine ar fi agatata de tavan. Daca cauciucul este demontat dai cu primer partea cu cauciucul, apoi interiorul jantei, apoi fata jantei. nu faci toate operatiunile astea la o singura roata ci la toate pe rand cum ti-am zis. Dupa care revii la straturile cele doua de vopsea in aceeasi ordine. Pe fata vopsesti mai intai zonele dificile si apoi partea frontala a rotii.

Don't use cheap clear coat... It won't survive cleaning your rims with cleaning products, they're very aggressive, Use 2k clear coat with hardener to activate to get a resistant coating
I used to have those rims on my peugeot
Top tip: best to do this with new tyres on, it gives the paint more than enough time to fully settle before changing time.

Very nice and useful video your friend. What dimension do the wheels have? how much primer spray is needed? how much for color? and how much for varnish?
good if your in a hurry but ideally best wait till you need to change your tyres. have them removed and the valves. prep and paint. then go have your new tyres and valves fitted. for a super smooth high gloss finish I always wet n dry 2500 on the primer after leaving it to harden 24hrs. then base coats then lacquer up. any little bits that you spot that have fallen into the lacquer can easily be picked up with a wet finger tip and a super quick delicate wipe then lacquer the spot over again ;)

Covering the entire tire with two passes of a clear plastic overlaped in the middle as you push it down and seed along the bead edge before then carefully using a sharp knife to cut the center wheel hole and secure plastic with tape is quicker & easier. Also if you have access to an old washing machine drum to set the wheel on and slowly spin the entire wheel as you paint twice once in each direction, it makes it easier to ensure there is more uniform full coverage.

question to anyone giving input...assuming I sand very well (220 then 400 grit) and clean well and dry...I bought duplicolor green can self etching primer and duplicolor high performance wheel coating gloss black. Do these work together? IF I do a clear coat...do I ... #1. apply the duplicolor clear or go for the 2k (harder more durable)? I read that 2K should only be used for certain paints. #2. should I apply clear coat when still tacky 40-45 min after last paint coat or wait 3 or 4 hours

Salut Sorin, am urmat toti pasii si am folosit un spray chrome din Leroy Marlin problema este ca am folosit doua lacuri diferite de la producatori diferiti si ambele matuie culoarea, isi pierde luciul dupa aplicarea lacului, ce as putea face? Multumesc anticipat!

What if i told you that you can powder coat them in Timi for 100e, and you have a full day for other stuff. This procedure is suitable for old rusty metal rims, for alloy you want something better. My2cents. Keep up the good job

Prea dur ai fost cu jantele folosind peria de sarma , vopseaua/lacul prea de aproape aplicate , greseli sunt multr dar oricum felicitari ,si eu la primul set de jante facute de mine nu eram prea departe de videoul tau!
