I believe when the cans states you apply 3 coats in a crosshatch pattern it also states like 5 minutes in-between each coat, ive heard from multiple sources that spraying thick heavy coats one direction only at a time, waiting the 5 minutes and doing the other direction in 5 mins, then diagonally in another 5m..
