What impressed me the most is how accurately you are able to lay your brush on the parts and done it quickly. Been painting a few years but I still need to slowly aim and do my paintings 💀

The skirt is called a "kama" apparently.

Weathering is a great way to hide little inconsistencies in freehand patterns. Nobody is gonna be able to tell a line isn't quite straight when it's all chipped.

Exactly 😉
Dont forget aswell that you can if u want to paint the blue in different places
Step 1: Prime the mini white. Welp, I've already messed up.

No bc same 😭😭
It should be added that IF you use a spray can, especially white scar and chaos black, you should always hit the mini up with one thin coat of the corresponding color. I.e Potted White Scar and Abaddon Black respectivly. The finish of the spray and the potted color are fairly different and if you have to correct the mistakes made in step one (adding black templar) or in other steps you will still see a difference in tone. Otherwise great video!

Can you explain this further, I'm not sure I'm getting it. If I spray my white, are you saying I should do a single coat of black prior to spraying?
Another Nice and easy to follow guide! Thank you vm 👍🏼 Just a quick question , I see a lot of painters use Apothcary white before but now seems there is a shift to Soulblight grey. In your expert opinion if you have to choose one to use for shading white helmets and armor which would be your pick and why ? Thanks!

I'd pick soulblight grey for armour, and apothecary white for white cloth - i think the apothecary white gives a softer tone more suited to cloth, whereas the soulblight grey looks better over hard surfaces
First time painting and followed you all the way through! Very silly question but once completed would you recomend using a matt varnish? Thanks so much for the video - Loved how they turned out!

Awesome! Glad you are happy with it! If you are going to be handling them a lot, then varnish can help - gloss on the armour is great as it gives that shine you see on the films. You can use a matt varnish on the clothing areas then to create more contrast 👍🏻 hope that helps! If you only have matt then this will work fine

@@ThePaintingCoach Thank you! Will give that a go 😊
Hey, I’m painting up the 212th clones from Obi Wan’s box. Really struggling to nail down the right shade of orange, what would you recommend?
@ThePaintingCoach

Hopefully, I'll get a box of those - is it a bright orange or more of an ochre you are going for?

Magmadroth Flame contrast from GW, maybe?
I don’t know why, but no matter the care and skill applied, factory new white armour always looks weird in pictures or videos 🤔 I really hope I manage a crisp paintjob like this on my clones. I‘m just going to add some battle damage after that 😊 Thank you for sharing!
great content. What brushes do you use for Contrast paints?
@ThePaintingCoach
5 ай бұрын
Thanks - I just use my normal brushes - if you're worried about the contrast destroying them, then a synthetic brush would be better
Coach, do you know how to paint celestant-prime's vortex?

Not sure if I will ever get round to painting it sorry!
Question! Why do you use Soulblight Grey and not Apothecary white?
@ThePaintingCoach
Жыл бұрын
Infind soulblight grey works well for armour, and apothecary white workw better on fabric - but you can absolutely use it here
Do you use a wet pallet? And/or a mixing medium?
@ThePaintingCoach

I use a Redgrass Games wet palette - just water for thinning
I know nothing about Star Wars but the storm troopers(?) looks great
