Love how you used the perspective lines. It made the rest so easy to understand. Excited now to try this in a painting.

You have amazing understanding of shadows, shapes, colors, etc. I have never watched anyone who paints as carefully yet easily as you. How much art education have you had? I think most of it comes naturally to a very smart guy! Thanks for your videos. Always informative and challenging.

Troy Dennis not learning about doing bills is very needed yet we learn about x=y. When tf would we ever use that in our life. If people want to become artists they could take a art class and learn this but art classes just do dumb sketches they teach you it’s not useful. This is.

Lizzy they teach you basic skills. They teach you algebra because it’s the basis of calculating a budget. They teach you geometry as it’s the basis for construction. This isn’t difficult to understand. This could be offered as an advanced art class sure but certainly not for everyone.

"Lay em' down together, don't think too hard about it." That's precisely the type of coaching I have needed over the years, whether it's a portrait, or a Sci-fi/Fantasy painting---I have struggled too hard THINKING about HOW, or WHAT to do in certain situations. When I simply take a deep breath--- close my eyes for a few moments, and just allow the ta- lent and creativity take over, things go MUCH smoother. Thanks for the reminder.

Most likely he is using oil. The blending looks very smooth (an attribute of oil paints.)

Impressive and incredible. This video was a real learning experience for me! You really showed the secrets of painting beautiful and realistic waves by explaining clearly the visual elements that come into play. Kudos to you as a painter-and a teacher.
