Loved the background, whilst you were doing the middle and foreground I could see a river then a canal, it would make lovely water reflections, still watching so I dont know the end yet, but I am def going to try the background

Loved the under painting I guess you would call it or background? Either way it adds just a beautiful glow to the entire painting. It turned out beautifully!

Love watching you paint and you do it in real time which is even better. I have a query about this painting. It looks to me that you have placed the sun directly in front of the two people yet their shadows are to the right suggesting the sun is to the left. Have I got that wrong?
@KarenRiceArt
Жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob, so pleased you liked watching this in real time. In regards to the placement of the sun. I had a play with the bull's eye technique and end up with the sun looking like it was setting. I was however still looking at the photo as a reference and went with that. I took the photo about 11 am in the morning. Hope this explains the shadow placement etc... You are right though if the sun was in front of the people the shadows would of course be behind. Thanks for sharing.

Love this painting Karen, but why do the shadows not come towards the viewer with the sun setting in the distance?
