    Exactly the scheme I used for my TK, all those years ago. I still have this army, and always wanted to eco and it with later models from later editions. I might get the chance, with “The Old World”. My favourite, of all the armies I painted over the years…

    It was daunting to see this video being 1 hour long, but the combination of good music, the way you talk and describe what you are doing deliberating about the process is really engrossing. Kind of like a Bob Ross video hahah. 56 minutes ended up passing in a flash, awesome work!! I think I might follow this for painting my Tomb Kings, wish I hadn't sold mine years ago but super glad they are back :)

    @Bb Miniatures This looks ace! Happily a new subscriber! I am just wondering, how would your approach for painting the bone change if you were after a colder white, say for a Vampire Count army, where the secondary colours would be something like a deep red and black, rather than the turquoise-y blue seen here? Which paints would you suggest? Thanks!

    Ahhh well you could take that in so many directions really. The VC skeletons have more wooden sheilds n coffin lids right? I imagine a lot of wood from cheap box coffins to only a few would have baller caskets that has had the wood carved and varnished etc.

  • @BbMiniatures

    @BbMiniatures

    Sure mate I can recommend Darkoath Flesh contrast from GW is an excellent alternative and has a similar red oxide hue thats close to the Dark Rust Wash. I would cover the model as I've shown in the tutorial, thin it down with some of the contast medium, as well as using that medium to thin and pull off to protect your highlights. A straight substitute that just dries faster, so you will have to work a bit quicker!

  • @BbMiniatures

    @BbMiniatures

    6 ай бұрын

    Bless mate I’m glad you’re feelin the paint job on these classic skeletons. As for the shields, yes. By layering up and directing your brush upwards towards the highlight will help with the blend itself. We can do other things such as a unification glaze over the entire shield to help soften the transition if desired. Just managing what you want in the finish vs the time spent. And as I said, the shield is where I’d put extra to get the most from your time vs visual impact :)
