Necrons are very fun to paint. The official colour schemes go ham with the metallics, but they can work really well with almost any colour scheme. I've seen some really good looking ghostly white ones.

These look really awesome. I just started learning about this hobby yesterday. I saw that in some images online (and I think maybe on the box) that some of the Necrons were painted red. Is there a technique to make the paint look scratched/distressed/missing in places? Thanks!
@TableTopReadyYoutube

Thank you. If you wanted to add scratches and texture, its really easy to do. you can see a google example of this in my ultramarine tutorial as I do this for the power armour.
Hi there. Thanks for the vid. Well explained and easy to follow. Does anyone have a recommandation on which brush size to use for the highlighting ? I tried various sizes.... but it keeps looking B A D and clumsy....not much control, even with a very detailled one... thx
@TableTopReadyYoutube
Жыл бұрын
I tend to use a small layer or a size 0. When it comes to highlighting it’s just gonna take practice. A brush will only do so much of the work for yah. Any brush around £5 is usually good enough. You can try getting some magnifiers or reading glasses to help see what your doing better.
Great video

Blood for the blood god is a fantastic technical paint. I want to do a short tutorial on how it can be used 🤔
This is phenomenal. Do you play as well and if so, do you do this much detail for your entire army?
@TableTopReadyYoutube
Жыл бұрын
I do play as well. Not as much as I would like though, I do like to collect armies. It depends on each project to be honest. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. I enjoy contrast and simple highlights on my age of Sigmar stuff because they have so much detail. A marine army I will do to a high standard though. Luckily I get to go all out and push myself for these tutorials and my armies not so much.
What paint should I use instead of iron hands steel on the gauss weapon (I have leadbelcher and runefang steel)

Leadbelcher is fine, I just use ironhands because that’s just what I tend to use personally 🤷🏼♂️
I Want to start painint some necrons, like the idea with the shading on the weapons but dont think it would look good in blue. I want to go for a more darkish silver/grey do you can recommend me some paints that would fit for the weaopn casing ? also maybe in the grey, darkish ways ?

What can you use in place of cryptek armor shade now that it is discontinued? The reikland looks too orange to me
@TableTopReadyYoutube
Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. I never used cryptek shade. I think it was a gloss shade. You’ll probably find it was a mixture. If your painting a whole army though I would decided on a colour you don’t have to mix to make life easier. Try them out and see which you like. They’re your miniatures 😃 there’s no right or wrong, just what you like
Nice vid and channel :) I`m quite new to citadel paints and I see you are using those a lot can you tell me what is the best way to put those paints from pot to pallet? what to use?
@TableTopReadyYoutube
Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I choose to use the Citadel range because I think its what most people expect to use for Warhammer as it's the Warhammer brand of hobby products. The paints are hands down the best water based acrylics you can get, not only for quality but for variety of colours and different types like the contrast range and shades. I just use my paint brush to put paint on the pallet, nothing special. you can use an old brush for this and keep your painting brush purely for painting, which I really should do to be honest. So if you watch my how to start painting Warhammer miniatures, it goes through the process of paint from the pot to the miniature.
@Malarz-Amator

absolutely, just make sure to get as much off your brush as possible before dry brushing the miniature. because its mainly pigment it can be sploggy

Great video! Would it be possible for you to create a How To Paint playlist rather than putting these videos in your 40k getting started playlist, or add a new playlist that includes just these How To Paint? Thank you. This video is not a getting started video even though it deals with the models in the Indomitus boxed set. Such a video would be based on the basic concepts of Battle Ready and Parade Ready painting levels, not talking about subassemblies and more complex ideas &/or processes. Certainly Parade Ready is getting beyond the Getting Started moniker. I have been enjoying your painting videos and the methodologies used, I would just like to save your playlist instead of each individual video. Cheers.

Scale green is a dark turquoise colour. As well when you start using it as a highlight, the colour it's painted on and the highlight you do after will also effect how it appears.
