How To Paint MDF Scenery

Painting MDF. It's something I get asked about every now and then, so I took this chance to paint up some that I have! So here's the Palazzo Magdalena from TTCombat's Streets of Venice collection!
Now, I'm not finished with this kit yet. I have another video where I'll be showing you some more stuff for your scenery. Sit tight.

Awesome video, I've been collecting the Streets of Venice for a massive build. I love seeing someone else working on the set and seeing what your ideas are.

The final paint job look good, but why keep them on the sheet when you prime? Not only do you end up with untidy spurs but you can't seal the sheets.

The edges on this kit are covered by grey board coverings, so the edges don't really matter. And the spray painting does the sealing with a couple sprays

Cool video, 1 question for clarity: You're priming/ painting everything, before you build the kits, right ?

Hey John, yes, that's right. Prime it on the sprue, and I paint the floor while it's still attached. The walls I did off sprue, but still before I built it up. I'd suggest doing dry-fits often, particularly if you're using washes, just to avoid any swelling. If your kit has the Grey board detailing, paint those on the sprue, too. The edges of them won't matter and will give a nice bit of outlining to the kit. Once everything is painted, or as I did with this kit, when I had finished painting each level, I would then glue the pieces together.
