haha i had just enough seconds to fit that in - i was proud of myself lol

Love the simplicity of this, a couple steps of dry brushing, a highlight or two, then the armour. Really useful for people who are maybe still new to the hobby (me) or don't have a million and one different bits of equipment such as the infamous airbrush (also me)

Thank you very much! My intention is to have a bit of a mix in terms of methods, that way hopefully they can be a bit easier to follow on screen and can be achievable for hobbyists that have either been doing it for a while, or someone that may be picking up a miniature for the first time - so i'm happy to vary what i do :):)

Make up brushes are the best hack in mini painting, complete game changer.

Agreed! Love them, and you can get some decent ones for mini painting at quite a reasonable price! :)

Man this reminds me when I was 11, 14 and 16 painting my Warhammer 40k, I still have them and more paint. Maybe I will buy few like yours for after my exams

haha thanks!! Well i thought that my Nazgul from LOTR are black and grey and so it would be nice to have more of an eerie feel to them for the Hobbit :)

keep on going my friend, you'll get there. I try to keen either my elbows on the desk, of lean arms on the side of it to help steady things whilst painting :)

It's just a standard brush that i used at the end :)

Love these models but they are so expensive. Kinda wish forge world didn’t double the price of what are already expensive models! I’d love to see a purple robed version with silver armour.

I guess at least with the Nazgûl you are getting 9 models. Some of the triple packs are the price of full war bands. Like the goat riders and other iron dwarves.

Yeh i know what you mean, i think they are probably £30-40 too expensive for what they are. If they came with AMAZING poses then maybe just maybe you could justify it.

Im gonna take this, add a few flour paints into the mix and see what happens.

Love seeing these awesome paint jobs done with AP paints. I have the complete AP box set and so many of these colors, I just dont really know what to do with most of them, since most people use Citadel and the color matching to Citadel is iffy on most colors.

Army Painter is kind of mid. I’d recommend Vallejo or Scale 75 if you’re good enough.

Thank you :) I think they are just good all around paints and between them and GW they are probably the most popular out there. There are some really nice colours in there such as the Teal colours,, if you find an army for them them then they wont disappoint. The only one i struggle with a bit are Orange and yellow, they are ok over a White or bone undercoat, but struggle when trying to paint over other darker colours.

Absolutely :) I just depends on what time you may have to spend or what they are for, or even what amount you have! haha I got a few board games such as D&D Castle Ravenloft which i will probably use speed paints mainly as i just want to get them done and play some games with friends :)

Hey, nice job on the paint scheme! I really appreciate how simple yet effective it is. Quick question: I noticed you stated that Crypt Wraith as the analog for Vulkan Green from Citadel; if I may ask for your opinion, what would you say is the equivalent of Nocturne Green in the Army Painter range? Vulkan Green and Nocturne Green are some of my favorite colors, but I havent really worked much with Citadel paints. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much, yes i try to do a close match where possible, Nocturne is a pretty dark green and i would say that it would eb a mix of Black and Angel Green to get something like it, or if you get your hands on the Skin Tones set then id go with 'Obsidian Pigment Toner' - its more of a paint to alter other colours - but over a black undercoat it will come out with a dark green :)

Hi! Here will be a little painting advice. No hate or criticism intended, I only want to share with you some awesome stuff that might (or might not) be somehow helpful for your upcoming artworks, because I really enjoy your content. In the last couple of your Shorts there are some visible issues with the base colour layering. A few days (or weeks) ago, Brushstroke painting released a complete guide on how to dilute (thin) the paints properly to avoid dotting and uneven paint splashes like on the cape of this model. Check it out to make your works even cooler! Looking forward for your upcoming projects! 👨‍🎨

Depends what im painting and method i want to show really, sometimes i want a nice clean effect if im going a good guys cloak or i want a scratchy textured look for evil miniatures, i like to mix it up and show a variety of methods :)

Indeedie! It's a Nuzgul of Dol Guldur from Middle Earth - used to be Forgeworld until they moved it to the Warhammer site.

Ah thats pretty easy, it was Rough Iron as a base followed by Strong Tone all over to darken it down a bit and take off the shine of the Iron colour. True copper after that for the highlight, to bring out some of the intricate details and then finally picking out some areas with Plate Mail Armour to make it "ping" :)

@@SwordsandBrushes Army Painter sucks. It’s a glossy mess of a paint that doesn’t have coverage and doesn’t mix well. Vallejo, Scale 75, hell even Citadel beat it into the ground.

It's a matter of preference. I use Army Painters and haven't had issues.

@@ferninus if you used superior paint you would realize how garbage it is. You could use craft paints and not have any issues. If you use a superior brand you would start to realize the issues with Army Painter paint. It’s like having a $2,000 car and not having any issues with it, but if you switched to a $80,000 car and tried to go back to the $2,000 one you would notice how bad it was.

Tabletop standard needs to be defined. Far to many people view tabletop standard as bare minimum effort. We all can do better paint jobs. Push a little harder from bare minimum and make your tabletop ready something to be proud of instead of just.."will it's painted. "

I agree :) Tabletop standard doesn't need to be the traditional at least 3 colours and then pop it on a base, i think there is more than enough paints and methods out there where people can achieve the look that they are going for with the time that they have. As long as you enjoy the process that's the main thing :):)
