Hello... I'm from Kent and live close to Faversham. Yes Shepherd and Neame is still important. Faversham had the Hop festival few a few weeks ago over a long weekend. Faversham is one of my favourite towns and is still picturesque, nearby Orchards and fruit farms, and the town centre is used for a lot of films and filming. including the new Darling Buds of May.

Oh lovely to hear from a fellow woman of Kent! I used to live in Eastling and painted in Faversham - I belonged to the local art group and exhibited in the town with them. Used to enjoy the Shepherd and Neame beer too!!

This is wonderful! It makes me want to take out sweaters and start thinking turkeys. Thank you for painting this beautiful autumnal wreath. To answer your question about content, I think I saw some trees in one of the pages of your sketch book. I would love to see you paint trees. That would be nice this time of year.

Diane, I love this charming autumn wreath. You've captured the essence of fall completely in this painting. That mouse just couldn't be any cuter! Tonight my plan is putting on my cozy pajamas, sitting by the fire, and sipping some hot cocoa while painting along with you in this lovely tutorial.

Hello from Kent Diane, Shepherd Neame is still going strong. We live in Herne Bay, just down the coast from Faversham. Our eldest son and his family lived in Faversham for quite a few years. Faversham still has the hop festival each year, not during the Pandemic of course. And there is still that lovely malty smell in the town, now and again. Unfortunately I don't know where they get their hops from. But we still see the occasional hop field around here., they are probably for the Micro Breweries.

I know Herne Bay well ! My sister lived there when she was at college in Canterbury and we lived in Canterbury for quite a while in the 80s when I was teaching on the Isle of Sheppey! My brother in law had a boat moored near Faversham for years and I also lived in Eastling around the turn of the century so Faversham was my shopping town! Lots of memories back there - it's changed an awful lot though, since then - glad to hear that Shepherd Neame is still there!

Thank you! I love the toad stools/mushrooms. Do you have a video on protective finish for watercolor paintings? How do you store and protect them?

I haven't done a video on that yet. I haven't used Dorlands Wax, which is what many people are recommending, so I can't say anything about that. I usually frame paintings behind glass if I want to protect them and view them, or otherwise I store them in drawers made for paper. You could also spray them with a polyurethane sealant.

Diane, like those who commented before me, I’m enchanted with this autumn wreath. I loved watching you paint this. I do have a question. I thought I noticed some granulation. Is it just my eyes, or are you using a granulating watercolor formula? Or was it your waterbrush?

Hi Susie, no I wasn’t using granulating formula. I was using the colour sheets from Viviva and I didn’t think they granulated. To be honest I’m not quite sure, maybe it was just the water reacting with the paint. Glad you enjoyed the video! And thanks very much for commenting!

Such a shame you didnt show the sketching Diane. I love to draw and would love to have seen how you set up the garland in the first place. When I try my bits and bobs seem to hang off the circle like xmas decs or my circle loses its shape and doesnt look like a garland at all....lovely though thankyou 🤗

@@DianeAntoneStudio oh well cant please everyone Diane. Im happy to sit watching and listening to artists for 2-3 hours as I can do my own thing at the same time. But thats my choice. Maybe you could do one sometime as a sep video then paint another time? Eg part 1 part 2? But I guess you have a life too 🤭🤭🤭

Are your brushes available yet?

Why do you choose to use a waterbrush pen ? And I’m guessing that’s just one brush and you apply all the different colours. I did not have a waterbrush pen at the moment and was confused whether to buy one or many with colours I guess in them help

Hi Kim, yes it is a plain water brush. I use it just like an ordinary brush, to apply all the different colours. I use it because I find it’s quicker than a regular brush. But the result is very similar. I do have a set of a very large number of coloured water brushes, And I will be putting up a video about them soon, showing me painting a jellyfish with them. But personally I prefer the water brush that just has water in it, and I use it like a normal brush.
