How to Paint a Seascape | Palette Knife Oil Painting Tutorial
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here's a full demonstration of how I paint a seascape in the alla prima technique using mostly a palette knife. For the painting surface, I’ll be working on a 6 x 6-inch piece of heavy-duty watercolour paper that’s been prepped with three layers of gesso.

You said you don’t like to use much texture but I feel this example has a lot of texture, no? I started watching because I’m specifically interested in painting with texture and using pallet knife Thanks for sharing. It’s beautiful.

Amazing, thank you so much! 🙏🙏
Very nice ! I like painting on wood panels but often buy small cheap primed canvas panels and give them one coat of shellac for studies/experiments.

Loved this video, thank you for sharing. I missed what color paint you had at the top righthand corner. Some kind of turquoise?

Thank you so much! Ultramarine blue but colbalt turquoise most probably made his way in there.

Love the painting. Also, are you by any chance related to the journalist Harry Fear ? Fear is not a last name you hear/read quite often.

What knives are favorites to paint with?

It depends on the size of the surface, most of the time, I like to use several different sizes ranging from small to large.

All a bit crude for me. Plastering is better on bricks.Nodetails in seascapes try a few cityscapes or animals.
