How to paint a realistic dog nose in acrylic - step by step tutorial
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
A step by step tutorial showing how I paint a dog nose in a realistic style using acrylic paint. I take you through the initial underpainting layers, the blending and modelling and applying the final details, light and shadow and the texture of the nose. Using Evie the BC portrait I recently uploaded a full timelapse of. I hope that my tutorials help the viewers to improve their own painting skills and show how I get the effects they would also like to get.

I agree. Can’t say it better. Thank you.
Great tutorial, really fast. I tend to spend too much time on paintings, taking a chance of going overboard!! Thank you!
Great video, superb detailing. Like you said, if you want realism, this is what you have to achieve in your paintings. Of all the videos I have watched on painting animals, especially dogs; I have not seen any other artist detail the nose as well as you have. Kudos to you.

Wonderful tutorial! Thank you so much for having a voice-over on the video, which is valuable in order to understand the thought process and reasons for doing each step. ❤️. Would you consider doing a tutorial of a Havanese dog? My son’s dog is half Yorkie and half Havanese. He is so silkie, with light caramel undertones, with creamy fur. A tutorial on a patch of that type of fur would be so helpful. I will understand if you are too busy for such a request. Your wonderful tutorials are so helpful in giving me a great understanding of your process and how to create such realistic animals. You are doing such a great job!❤️

Hi... I can only use commissions as tutorials because they are what pay my bills so what breeds I do depends on what I am commissioned to paint....
Ganz toll, male auch als Hobby.jetzt weiß ich wie genau man eine hundenase malt! Super ganz toll😂

i'm sorry that i'm so late watching your latest video. i had a rough couple of days (tooth ache). i don't think your voice in monotone, if it matters. thank you for commentary about reflected light. people might think, "i'm painting a black nose with some white shiny areas, so i will just use black and white". but that would be a mistake. i love the way you pointed out the subtle green from the grass reflection and the subtle blue from the sky in your brightest nightlights. it is DEFINITELY these details that will elevate any artwork. whites are rarely "pure white" and grays also often have more than just black and white in them. and this is extremely common in reflected light. thank you for another wonderful video!!

Ha, i forget what I actually talked about in these videos lol. I assume I mentioned my voice in this one haha... Yes it is true about the colours involved. People should always be thinking about all types of light..not just direct light but reflected light. It's what really makes a piece. Hope the toothache is under control now. I take vit D with added Vit K2 which is very beneficial for the teeth and bones.
Amazing!
That’s amazing I love dog portraits

Thoroughly enjoy your channel! New subscriber here! I was searching how to paint brindle fur, which I find challenging; a real struggle to be truthful! I watched your pug tutorial and gleaned a lot of useful information, which should help! Thank you for sharing your outstanding work!

@@TmHudsonArt That would be fantastic! Thank you so much! I appreciate how you explain your process so clearly, and also how you mix real time footage with time-lapse, although I truly enjoyed listening to your 'musings' during the pug video! Cheers!

Hi..I paint what people commission me to do because thats how I currently make my living so it is a case of when somebody wants me to do a dog of that type. I have done a pinker nose in the Blu portrait (Gold cocker) which I posted a few months ago.
Just curious, how much would you charge for a 16"x20" portrait? I have some commissions coming and I'm not sure how much to charge. Im nowhere near as good as you at dogs, but it would still help me gage a price ❤

If it helps...add up materials...amd the time spent ie...three hours to @ ie ???...= your minimum...
Can you please paint a lop-eared bunny?

These are all private commissions which is how I make a living so unless somebody commissions me to paint a rabbit, it won't be happening anytime soon.
omg this technique would drive me nuts and frustrated; working with a 3 hair tiny little brushes should feel like torture.
