I Like Nocturnes! They’re the ideal painting in my opinion because it’s so difficult to capture accurate representations of nighttime with photographs.

You are most welcome! Thank you for your nice comments. I’m glad you’re here.
Another great demonstration!! I have never attempted a moon light scene, but now that you have given such clear instruction and created such a lovely painting I am inspired to give it a try. When I watch your videos I feel like you are looking over my shoulder giving me insightful painting tweaks here and there. Really outstanding Scott. Thank You so much for your expertise and time!

My pleasure! You got this, Amber! I would love to see your painting if you try one :-)
Fantastic, Scott! I didn't see that you were doing a live video until just now. Moonlit nocturnes are my favorite -- you are ROCKING this one. (If my lungs were better I'd be outside doing one right now. Heh.) Thanks for sharing. :)

Hey Laura, you are so kind. Thanks for tuning in and I'm glad you were digging it! Hope to see you soon.
The moon is huge last night, so it brought me back to your beautiful video! I don't have chromatic black, but you can make it with thalo green and Aliz. Crimson? What about the medium a have a tube of Gamblin's solvent free gel. Will that work?

Hi Dee! The moon is amazing right now!! Yes, Thalo green+Aliz. Crimson will make a wonderful transparent black and Gamblin’s Solvent Free Gel is a good medium if you need to improve the flow and speed the drying of the paint. 😉

It's an illusion that a moon closer to the horizon is larger. If you hold out your arm toward the moon, visually, the moon will be about the size of the fingernail of your small finger no matter where the moon is, be it high or low. In photographs, the moon will look larger, compared to its surroundings with a telephoto lens, and smaller with a wide-angle lens.
I'm late! Will catch up later.
