    Beautiful colour and nice job dude looks killer 👌 I never painted with a normal size gun I’ve done a fair bit of airbrushing but nothing remotely like to this scale . I have just bought a ford streetka convertible in a normal solid red for my daughter it’s a great little car but there’s a bit of lacquer peel it’s 23 years old now so I’m gonna attempt to paint it in the summer as it’s freezing in the Uk right now so I’m learning all I can fingers crossed huh lol 👍

    Hi.. Awesome work. I was curious though... when you apply the paint you seem to do about 50% coverage on each pass. But on the clear it looks like you are almost going over each pass twice. is that right?

  • @BogDustForBreakfast

    @BogDustForBreakfast

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great observation Scott . I tend to apply clear with a 60% over lap when it’s really hot to keep the edge wet . Resulting in a nicer finish . I don’t always do this but I find in most cases in hot weather jobs come out nicer . Slow hardener would have been a better option on this day but I had bought the clear a long time before painting it 👍

  • @BogDustForBreakfast

    @BogDustForBreakfast

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@tommyboya5439 if you were clear about what stage you were talking about I would help you understand it . Paint does dry out if you leave it long enough . The surfacer used had slow reducer , which means it evaporates much slower and flows out flatter . I can only assume you were talking about the surfacer as that was the only time I went back over a section , since I used slow thinner and harder it was still wet when I added more paint to those areas . It all melts in and has no dry spots or dry over spray . If I had of done it on the clear coat stage it could have left dry over spray around that area . Hope that answered your questions 😀

I never appreciated just how sharp some angles are until seeing it getting painted. I liked the way you passed over the rear quarter and pillar. Curious do you know what these were like out of the factory, as far as paint coverage for example?
