Horse acrylic for beginner
Could you do an oil paint version ? Thank you .
@allisonprior

I only have a small studio and the fumes are to strong, only for that I would love to do an oil painting, you can do this tutorial in oils the colorsand techniques would be the same, you just use linseed oil to thin out your paints to help them spread..and the color will blend beautifully, you just have to wait longer for the paint to dry when your painting is finished.
I wanted to paint a horse running the Kentucky derby, but I couldn’t keep up with him....

Sometimes the painting takes a long time so I break it up in parts and put them in a play list for those who like to have the video's in parts, and I also have the full version, here is the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/emesy5ergMy7cdY.html
That’s 4 colors excluding white.

I used 3 colors on the horse, I didn't use the blue, but I was thinking about using it on the backround...I had Red, Yellow, Blue, Burnt Umber, Black and White on my palette, Thank you for your feedback Mary....it really helps others who may have the same questions.
You said to paint with 3 but you use 6
@allisonprior

Thank you for your feedback, I used 3 colors, and lighten and darkened, the 3 main colors were Burnt Umber, Cad Red and Cad Yellow, and White to lighten the colors, and Black to darken, I used Ultramarine blue and Burnt Umber to make black... Sorry for the confusion..

Thank you for your feedback, could you explain what you mean, I did use a refernce photo but I painted this myself using my own colors, you need to use refernce photo's you took your self or free ones on the internet to help with shapes and colors, layout, etc, how would you have painted this? it would be nice to go out into a field and find a horse stetch it out and then try to paint it on the spot, or take a picture to take home so you can work on it and take your time, I would love to hear your explaination to help our viewers, I appreicate your commet it's good point, but I need more information...Hopefully you are an artist with a lot of experience so it would be great to learn more from you...
Pity about the tract playing in the background. I wanted to hear you not the singer so I turned the sound off.
