I absolutely love this technique. When terra cotta first came out I was sceptical. I have since watched you work with this wonder paint, now I'm completely sold! I have already done one piece and I'm about to begin another one. Thank you for introducing me and changing my mind about working with this beautiful product.

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this piece. I'm franticly looking around my house to see if I can find a volunteer and I have! I really like the muted colors. Usually when I do layers I use turquoises, blues, yellows and reds for that I just drug this out of the back of the barn look. I never even considered this more muted version and I'm absolutely excited to do it.

It’s funny I do the same! Lots of blues. But this palate fits and decor style! Happy painting!!

I LOVE this look!!! - it's exactly how I want to paint my kitchen island. I've been watch EVERY video you have with this kind of technique. I'll definitely have to try the Terra paint for that project. Also, you cracked me up when you said, "it was varnished within an inch of its life". Too funny and thanks for sharing.

In your experience of using Terra Clay paint, how many pieces have you had to sand prior to painting? My next piece is a china hutch I am doing and I want to use Terra Clay for the first time. I typically sand my pieces before doing them but the hutch is so giant I am wondering if I can get away with not sanding this piece and just going right in with the Terra Clay because its so thick?

I always clean. Rinse and do a scuff sand. Especially if things are shiny. But minimal sanding for me. It’s not required. I do like a one color base coat of chalk first before terra tho! Hope that helps.
