I did this tutorial with my five year old niece. We both loved following along with this. My niece, at one point, gasped and stated "she has such nice style!" So much fun.

Great question...the progress photos have multiple benefits. 1- it's nice to flip through the photos the next day to see how you transform a white canvas into an image. TIP- notice how you interpret each photo differently as you get rid of the white canvas. 2- it's nice to have visual documentation of what you create & learn. after many paintings, you can really see how much you progress and get comfortable with the process. 3- when you look at your painting on your phone, it's the same thing as looking at your painting from a distance. when painting you are 2 feet in front of your painting. Most things in life (&art) are viewed from a distance of 5-10 ft. Your phone is a tool to help see your painting from a distance. most things in the creative process are to help you look at the world from a new perspective. The progress photos are just that. hope that helps clarify. Happy Painting!
