Thank you for the detailed video. I have a bunch of comic book shipping boxes that are 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 1 1/4" and I was going to put the hot wheel inside a plastic ziploc bag and then use blue painters tape to hold the bagged hot wheel inside the middle of the box. This way I don't have to buy wasteful bubble wrap or extra boxes since I already have these boxes and blue painters tape for shipping comics. This will keep the total weight below 8 oz which will keep the first class mail cost at under $3.99 anywhere in the US. The other option is to use USPS small flat rate priority shipping boxes for free but that costs $8.01 to ship so would only be worth it for a more expensive car.

This is one of the better hotwheels shipping tutorials that I've seen. As a collector, I can't stand tape on the bubble wrap. If i may, my only suggestion is to add some low tack painters tape to blisters during the winter to avoid breaks.

Yes, a lot of people do that. It has to be very good quality tape and a more fresh of a hot wheel though. Due to some tapes being a little stickier than others and some hot wheels blisters being weaker or not glued well the card, when pulling tape off it may pull the blister off or crack the blister too. I have done both and found that when you package the hot wheel, if you wrap the bubble wrap closely around the blister it seems to be pretty safe. I have had very few issues over the years, but shipping can be hard on hot wheels no matter what you do.

I've skipped a ton of Hot Wheels and I've always used to tape. But now I can see where it's not a good idea to use tape thanks for pointing that out nice video

I started out using it as well... I once order a hot wheel and it was taped and I bent the card in excitement of seeing what I have been trying to find for months, it was at that moment I realized it wasn’t the best idea lol. I’m glad I could share and thank you so much for watching. Cheers!

Tape it well and stick the label right on it. Best thing about this size box as it also fits in most usps drop boxes

Randy Ung collections in whole will go less than individually. However if you sell individually I recommend searching the recently sold on eBay to get the most common and accurate pricing

I find that packaged how wheels sell better and faster however old ones like redlines sell in any condition

Sorry if this has already been covered in the comments, but ever any issues with it not being waterproofed? Maybe I'm overthinking things, but I kind of worry about the box getting rained on or something and it's currently what's been holding me from listing. Just trying to get my ducks in a row for worst case situations. Thanks for this video, it's been VERY helpful! I went with 9x6x2 to make way for protective case shipments. Prices seem the same on both shipping and purchasing, but I think I may need to invest in the 7x5x2 ones that you're using for my normal shipments without case. The less movement in the box, the better!

Great question and here is my easy and honest answer… if it’s an expensive hot wheel it will be in a clam shell and I will greatly add tape to areas I believe could have water intrusion. The reality is, I’ve never had this issue and for cheaper hot wheels I’d gladly refund them and let them keep it, at least it won’t hurt the car only the card. That being said, the amount of savings I’ve had in keeping costs down in materials will easily pay for someone’s car if needed. I do believe the boxes I buy are pretty good at would easily protect against light rain or something, in addition to that it’s wrapped in plastic bubble wrap, it would have to be submerged to really cause any damage I think.

The lowest I sell a hot wheel for is $7 now and I sell a lot so normally still worth it. Also great news is these packages fit in most drop off boxes so on my way to work I pass one don’t even have to get out of my car. On average I sell hot wheels valued at $12-$50 about 70-100 packages a month

Now what about these guys that put blue painters tape on the blister. Just had a few show up that way. He told me that it ads protection from scratching the blister and makes the corners a little more stiffer. I call BS on that.

I just worry of residue and when pulling the tape it could pull the blister. That’s why I don’t but I also agree especially with heavier or older hot wheels when the blister gets brittle it could add safety

So I typically ship Hot Wheels in 8x6x4 and it usually comes out to 6-8 oz. I can get those boxes for around $0.30, which is better than the $0.50 I see for these. But I guess my question is what do you typically ship these at weight wise? If the weight is sub 4oz, I would definitely invest in these to save on shipping cost

Cameron Myers most single hot wheels are 4 ounces some are heavier and make their way into the 5 ounce range. I fount this more economical long term money wise as shipping is much cheaper.

Theory or Will it really depends I normally do free shipping and just include it in my price. For one hot wheel it’s normally under $3.50 to ship anywhere in the US using USPS first class through eBay. If you don’t use eBay it’s a bit more expensive. For two hot wheels it’s normally 6-8 ounces and costs about $4-$5 shipping anywhere in the US

Great question. I have found individual sales are more common but lots can be more profitable. I find I do probably 80% singles and 20% lots/sets but it all depends on how you are buying them as well. Hope this helps.

Profit margin is out the window with all that packaging. Would only do it for pricy hot wheels.

I have to say I disagree to a point in this packing video. First off the car even in bubble wrap if it moves around at all like his shaking the box and you can hear the car moving, damage to the card can still happen. I’ve had it happen to me. Buy a card in perfect shape and it gets banged around during shipping and damaged. Do not pack it super tight but add more bubble wrap or like me the real packing peanuts. Not those cheap crap ones that stick I everything. I’ve sold over 500 worst watches packed this way and well over 1,000 hot wheels throughout the years. Nothing is guaranteed if shipped by usps.

@@redeagle1598 I have they are hard to come by at a fair price these days. Well a lot of specialty hot wheels, treasure hunt and supers, sell some hard to find main lines, premiums and exclusives. It’s a great way to pay for my collection and use as tax write offs for taxes as well.

Rookie mistake man never pay for boxes that are free at the post office for shipping 1 or 2 hot wheels 😂🤣😂

Jaymz Bristol I pay 3-4 dollars less first class those boxes are priority and these fit the hot wheels better. I ship out 5-10 a day and always figure the price of a quality box into my sale price

@@HONDACARGUY i know that there are ways around using the post office boxs and NOT shipping them priority mail for 1-2 hot wheels i think im going to make a youtube video about how to do that

Jaymz Bristol of course you can wrap in paper but if the post office finds that’s what you are doing the package gets confiscated and you get fined it’s just not worth the risk or extra time. I average pay .15-.25 a box to be legit and have a nice presentation for my customers worth it completely

Jaymz Bristol maybe. I have heard stories of the issues and just not worth it to me personally. If it works for you that’s great. Either way it is nice to hear people using boxes either way I have gotten hot wheels in bubble envelopes that’s terrible

Don’t believe everything you see or hear!!! Because I have proof that he doesn’t follow by the book all the time because what I received wasn’t in bubble wrap at all it was in a clear plastic bag and then in a box and when I received it the item was in pieces inside the clear plastic bag and I sent him pictures and he had the nerve to call me a scammer Oh I think not #hondascammer!!!

🤣 This guy… look man, had you sent me a picture of the box so I could see if it was tampered with and not just a picture of the hot wheel clearly pulled off the card and not immediately attacking me calling me a scam, I would have easily reimbursed you the $6. I have well over 1500 100% feedbacks, I’m a top rated eBay seller for almost 4 years and your attacking me on my KZread channel where 90% of my content is helping people literally commenting on the video where I show how to properly ship hot wheels safely. One of two things happened someone messed with the package in transit or more than likely you do this regularly to people in hopes getting shit free. This is why eBay has not even contacted me about the transaction… Thank you though for watching and interacting with my video and channel. 👍
