How to pack your backpack | Fjällräven

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Packing a backpack doesn't sound very hard. And it isn't. But there is quite a lot of thought that goes into what goes where if you're going on a multiday hike - and for some really good reasons. In this video, our two friendliest outdoor experts, Sofia and Carl, show us how they pack theirs.

    Excellent video. I particularly like the idea of letting others know where you have stored items that they may need access to, medical kit, in your backpack. Makes sense

    So about the lifetime repairs. This really tipped me over to buy a pair of pants. After I had them for a year and they were worn out with holes and rips I decided to email customer service. I was also thinking about buying another pair until I received this message... "Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your item's Limited (?) Lifetime Warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. Accidental damage/wear and tear are not covered." Wait... What?... I can't think of a clothing company that won't replace something you got with manufacturing defects. That email blew my mind when I got it.

    I love your products unfortunately my budget doesn’t allow me to buy most of your products new but second hand. Even as second hand products they are still in great shape due to great engineering and durable materials. Great products and this is a great video. Cheers.

    This corona-pandemic really is a spark for many people to get outdoors, which is really lovely. I've been trekking in the wilderness many times, and with proper equipment and knowledge it is a breeze. I hope more people would find the outdoors and start trekking and hiking :)

    I do not hope so....lots of people do not know how to behave in the outdoors (lack of responsibility). Right now it's a high impact on nature in a negative way...at least here in switzerland.

    yeah great vid curiosity , plus its 2am and im bored , i have dollops of packs from osprey ( with crappy sports bra materials ) which can snag and pull on thick brambles .. two kajka's 75 and 65 for summer .. great packs .tough .. but i reccomend double sided velcro for the stupidly long straps . which can whip you in the face (even your eyes ) in high winds , i pretty much keep Everything inside .. no external gear for me . i see lots of packs with as much gear outside as in .

    One word of advice on your packs. You should include some instructions for setting up your adjustable packs to fit your torso length properly. While I appreciate the infinite adjustability, you don't provide any guidelines for exactly how it should fit. This is in contrast to the Mystery Ranch pack I just received. Ths is adjustable as well but provides full guidelines and instructions for how to fit it to your specific torso length. I would have really like to see this on my Kajka 65.

    Sophia does have the Kaipak jacket in the video about layers, in this video it looks like the Keb jacket with the tall chest pockets, I’m trying to decide between both of these jackets myself, each with benefit, additional stretch/ breathability or additional pockets and durability. Unfortunately the Kaipak colours are very limited in Canada and black seems pretty dark for spring/fall weather but we’ll see Calle looks like they are wearing the Keb fleece hoodie

    I have the Friluft 35 and manage to bring my 2p tent and sleeping gear, but the foam pad stays outside at the bottom of the backpack ("under"). In the 35L I manage to bring everything I need for 2-3 days, provided I carry the small cooking system (SOTO thermostack with small gas canister) and don't need bigger pans etc, will basically boil water, make coffee, fairly basic but tasty food :) I purposly decided for the 35L one because I wanted to be a bit more minimalist in how much stuff I bring. For longer trips (3+ days) I would go for 50L as a bare minimum.

  • @nfo981

    They are fashion brand. I learned that on harder way (by purchasing few pants and jackets). G1000 is very bad (not durable) for tracking. Design is very nice but they are overpriced and G1000 bland is old technology. Too bad that they don't have more modern materials.

    Sure, if your standards are low and you don’t care about buying sustainable products, feel free to buy those other garbage brands. If you are interested in high quality products that will last for generations, you should choose Fjällräven, Haglöfs, Hilleberg and a few other brands. I will just consider you a part of what is the problem with mankind if you choose the former.

  • @nfo981

    @nfo981

    @@Sauromannen Are you aware that almost all of their products are made in China? Only Numbers series are made in EU. And prices of that are absurd. Substainable from China. Lol. If they would care about substantially their products would last longer. My Milo pants are in better shape than my Keb trousers. I have purchased 2 pants and 3 Fjallraven jackets. All G1000 are fairly bad quality. Only durable garment that I have from Fjallraven is Keb Eco Shell Jacket. Btw. if you like sustainable and social aware, ethical manufacturing, search for Paramo and Miquelina Foundation.

  • @nfo981

    @nfo981

    @Chris Kavanaugh Excellent argument! I paid fair price for my computer. When I buy Chinese pants, i expect to pay little less than for instance 230€ (keb trousers). 😆 Fjallraven marketing is all about ecology and substainability. That necessarily means that product MUST be produced locally. If it is not produced locally in Sweden or EU, there will be impact on nature because of lower eco norms in China, pollution because of transport, workers are not paid fair for such high price of end product. For souch high price asked from Fjallraven I expect top Swedish or EU quality. If you like to pay such high price for Chinese cheap pants (by any means polyester cotton bland that G1000 is, is cheap) it is ok by me. Once more, I have few garments from Fjallraven and durability for my specific usage (treking) is not good with exception of Keb eco shell jacket. That jacket is durable because it is not made from G1000.

  • @nfo981

    @nfo981

    @Chris Kavanaugh Well, I have few Fjallraven garments and all of them that are made from G1000 are sub par quality (durability) wise. I am not some eco maniac. My point was that Fjallraven marketing focus is on ecology and substainability and their products are far from that. They have great design and marketing. That's it.
