how to pack one week in a carry-on // travel
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I got a few inquiries on instagram on how I packed one week of clothing in a carry-on for my California trip, so I thought I would share an example on my packing technique. I am not an expert, but hopefully this will be beneficial to you. I hope you enjoy :)
Don't forget to watch in HD, it's better!!! :)

Also a tip I’ve learned that I love..is I bought a huge pack of shower caps from the dollar tree and put my shoes in those to keep my shoes separated and my luggage clean.

Such a great idea! Definitely going to do this going forward because I sometimes put clothes on that side and worry about it getting dirty.

This is genius!!
Try packing the bottoms towards the wheels-this way it won’t smoosh & wrinkle your tops. No iron needed 🥰

Really good idea! Thank you 💜
Thank you, glad to find a video that takes into account 2 outfits per day (day and night) and multiple heels. I'm trying to learn to not over pack. ❤️
Love this for an actual suitcase. We can't use that trick for air new Zealand as we are only aloud 7KG for carry on and it has to fit below the seat in front or in the above lockers. Definitely best packing video I've seen so far tho!
I don't travel but I go down Jersey shore every year for a month, I found this very helpful for my next trip from Arizona I go every summer to see some family spend our family beach house and I always over pack never have room bring back stuff so hopefully my next trip.... not many people pack like u do :) love this and tell you how many
glad see someone pack there pajamas and add the number I don't see to many people do this way love this...also organized and i yes I agree this is very helpful for my next travel I always over pack for when I go back to Jersey shore for a month of August

Your folding is on point!
Fellow #teamcarryon here! Great video. I noticed you put your clothes in the deeper part and I don’t know why I never thought to do that! I usually pack my shoes in the deeper part but I’m going to try this way for my next upcoming trip!
Thank you!! I’m going to buy a new suitcase like this. It’s makes it much easier to separate and organize. I’ve been wanting a hard shell

Loved watching you fold! Question: what about toiletries? Tooth brush?
I have the same suitcase. 😊
you did that! this is the most realistic packing vid i have watched. the amount of clothes to shoes is very ideal. and you left nothing out to make this work. where did you put your personal care items? I am determined to pack like this for my dubai trip. i refuse to have my luggage lost

I really learned some tricks from this video! Stuffing the socks in shoes and the 2 piece swimsuit suggestion 🤯 One day I’ll work up the courage to try this.

Have you ever tried packing cubes or compression packing cubes ? I love your organizational style !

I have and love them ! I once had TSA rifle through my suitcase contents and have used packing cubes ever since then . I have graduated from standard packing cubes to double sided, then compression and now double sided compression. The concept of clean/ dirty in the same cube was very appealing to me , with the addition of compression ! Right now, it’s hard to find them on Amazon . Hope they are offered soon again ! I use different colors to quickly indicate different contents. However, I am still trying to decide the best way to pack them to save the most space. I like the Kon Mari style better than rolling, as I find that rolling adds to my wrinkles and I think that the flatter Kon Mari style creates fewer wrinkles. However, with Kon Mari, the garments have height , so that makes it harder to use any type of compression cubes , so I do a sort of a folding roll , which is tough to describe , except that the end object does not end up round , but more like a short folded rectangle , if that makes sense . I look forward to any more videos that you do ! I am an organizational addict , I love efficient packing videos !

I understand everything you just said lol. I definitely want to start using compression cubes because they can get really flat. And Kon Mari is a GENIUS when it comes to organizational efficiency. Thanks for watching, I’m thinking of doing more videos like these 💜
where did you find your carry on luggage?! I love how it has different sections!

What is the weight? In Australia the general limit is 7kg for carry on and they check on virtually all flights so carry on for a week is not really an easy task!
The airline allowed a packed suitcase weighing 30lbs to be a carry-on?
Will do less shoes after that really good packing
@LivinginTyeland

Yeah, less shoes would actually be more realistic, but I was being extra lol. Thanks for watching 💜
Doesn’t it get all wrinkled?
Do you wear the same exact clothes for both travel days - coming and going ?
@LivinginTyeland

I do, especially the shoes because they usually are the heaviest.
I need a plus size version 😬 clothes don’t fold this small 🙃😭 great video though 🥳🤝🏽
This is very helpful for my next travel! Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. I've been using this bag for months now and it is such a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and it fits under the seat too! makes your travel more convenient and effortless and it packs like a suitcase too!

I actually am going thinking of what is the most effective for me when traveling, so I might look into the duffel bag. Thanks so much for watching 💜

for anyone that thinks this is a genuine reccomendation, it's not. you can find pretty much the same "bento bag" comment on every packing video. it's not a recommendation, it's just marketing

Roll into cubes and ziplock bags and you will then be amazed as this is shoving wrinkled clothes into a large carry on which is zero to be amazed about lol!
Is that 7 kgs?
Impressive 👍🏽

Americans are lucky that your airlines are not too concerned about the carry-on weight, only the bag size. Here in Asia Pacific region, we are limited to not only the bag size but also 7kg/15.5lbs weight 😂. Basically HALF of what you have in this video.
@LivinginTyeland
2 жыл бұрын
Wow! I went to SE Asia and I believe we did have to check all of our bags because they were too big for a carry on. So this might also be region specific, I hope it was still valuable to you though. Thanks for watching 💜

@@janine_w9560 Really i had no idea duh! I tour the world with my job and i have travelled more times than you have had hot dinners! my son is size 10 uk mens size so his shoes are huge! he has been away abroad over a dozen times this year and has also travelled the world for extended periods of time so i am an expert as i don't bother to check bags as there is no need! this was a terrible video so why comment something that is totally obvious!

@@janine_w9560 I posted my own comment below but people like you tend to worship people on YT videos, it certainly didn't sound like you were agreeing or else strangely enough you would have said i agree but you sounded as if you were telling me something that was clear to me... it isn't flexing you fool! i was backing my comment as it seemed like you attacked it! if you genuinely agreed then why not say it instead of back tracking and then crying like a snowflake? this is one of the worst videos i have watched on packing.. her clothes are creased AF and that technique is ridiculous! if you travel a lot then that isn't evident by your like of this useless video

That is because it is! This is awful packing! rolling these wrinkled clothes in cubes and ziplocks you could have fit it into a personal item with no issues whatsoever!
Your case would be too heavy for a carry-on bag 😢. Max weight usually 22 lbs (10 kg) or less.
What about the weight ? It can only weigh so much

most airlines in the United States don't have weight limits on carryon bags. I was surprised as well. I only saw limits once you are international.
