Why don't you like ice in the base @hookahjohn? I'm just curious. Also I never see you use Adalya flavours. Why is that? Not strong enough?

When I pack a bowl with musthave I make fluff pack and dense to the rim. Using foil and povost. A session lasts about 2 hours with 3 cubes of coal

Best Lounge in Los Angels and/or San Francisco or near?

Correct me if I’m wrong - but I’m sure that brands excel based on packing methods. For instance - Al Fakher is optimal with a semi fluff to regular pack. As opposed to dark tobaccos like Tangiers that are good with dense packs…..

Yes, to a point, but it's not that complicated. Some will make it seem like you need a masterclass to learn how to pack a bowl. Millions of people have been doing this for centuries. Yes, there are better ways depending on the brand, but overall, nothing you or anyone else can't handle.

I’ve found different tubs have a different consistency. Some are very gloopy and clump together but appreciate the video. Very entertaining!

I must say.. the message from this video was a refreshing welcome (compared to the science of packing, that others try to feed).

yes, packing bowls is basic, anyone can do it.

Do you ship to UK hookah tobacco?

Not a big deal if for a very short time, but Aluminum has relatively low melting point so if put it in a direct heat for extended period it will deform. Thats why not a good idea with the lotus

Hello guys, I'm from Brazil and most of people here say to make the first puff only after some minutes, because there is a chance to burn the tobacco. They say to cook the tobacco for some minute before the first puff. Is this true? Tks for the video John.

It depends. If you made indentation by 1-2mm you should cook it about 2-3 minutes if you re heating it on aluminum kaloud on 4 coals or 3 coals and a cap and it depends of heat capacity of your bowl (classic turcish, phunnel or killer, how big it is, how thick are the sidewalls, is it simple clay or some fancy ceramics, is it glazed from the inside or not), the more the indentation the more time it takes. If you re packing without indentation and packing it airilly you should make your first puff in about 30 seconds or so.

Because smoking simultaneously will get aerosol more saturated with air causing your pack give less taste and last less. And there is severe chance of overheating tobacco because of more frequent puffs. And it's nightmare to clean these types of hookah.@@djdevontay

Hi americans. Cheers from the other side of the ocean. You are very lucky. Musthave is one of the best brands of tobacco in the world, in my top 3 personally. If you have the chance, smoke this in traditional bowls, not phunnels. Get a big max, voskurimpsia or UPG bowl, you can smoke this tobacco for 2:30 hours if well prepared. Enjoy!

It was 10 minutes, and yes, it was a struggle.

The problem is when I try hookah in ukraine the flavor was a lot intense and took me like 1 hour or more with out dying omg super good hookahs

Maybe im just not doing it right but I pack however I do. No specific way and it always smokes the same. I haven't gotten like major flavour. Just enough flavour.

@@FaeezHendrickslate reply but certain tobaccos, especially dark leaf, usually need to be packed differently. For example Tangiers is packed dense and Trifecta dark semi dense. You wouldn’t fluff pack them like the brands you mentioned

@@FaeezHendricksfluff pack and heat management also too much heat will alter the flavor I try to use 2-3 coals max with lighter flavors and a thorough clean of your parts on your hookah can help you trouble shoot if you need a new hose bowl etc

You do but it’s not like cigarettes, hookah is wayyyyyyy safer than cigarettes. Cigarettes have chemicals that make you addicted. Most Arabs I knew stop cold turkey during certain months or whatever. Cigarettes are way harder and most can’t stop smoking cigarettes. The tobacco is natural cured no chemicals. Go look at the process to make it.

yes but the "smoke" is more like vapor, its not harsh, and in hookah there is no burning, if you smell or taste burning effect something goes wrong, it must be light and no harsh in throat, however there are different levels of favor and nicotine strength, or nicotine free

I don’t mean to be rude, but that pack really is not good. You just poked your fork into the tobacco and put a lotus on top. You have to spread the tobacco nicely and carefully and NOT press hard on it like you do in the video😂. When you finish the pack you have to free the very far around outside of the tobacco so the airflow from the lotus is perfect.

Man, I'm russian and I'm hookah lounge owner, it is phunnel, you can pack it airilly, you can pack it pressed like this, most important thing is heat control. Here in russian lounges we mostly packing phunnels pressed, cause we treat them as bowls for more easy smoking of strong tobacco. But musthave is also ok in terms of tobacco strength (not in terms of quality, there are much more of products on our market that are far better), kinda light but okay.
