Interesting! I'm (almost) in my mid 40's and since since I got a new job working from home full time, I'm having a wardrobe identity crisis. LOL I do travel at least quarterly for work, so I need to keep some "work clothes." But I'm having a hard time letting go of the majority of my clothes that was formerly part of my in-office wardrobe. On a regular basis I clean out at least a few pieces. I do have a mental goal to have more of a "capsule" wardrobe like thism

I used to travel for a living Frédérique and I followed many of these tips, they are spot on! I had to look professional for the office, have casual for evening plus sleeping and workout clothes( AND make up and skincare) you are such a true blessing with all your fashion wisdom ( we do not have to pack like the housewives of Beverly Hills to look fabulous) Happy Sunday 💼🧳 ✈️ ( I need to find a channel where they do these tips for men. My husband always overpacks too much lol 😂

Yes! The pashmina is the BEST thing on the plane. A blanket, a chic scarf…my son even napped using my pashmina as a tent!

These outfits are good for creating a capsule wardrobe as well as travelling. It's so good to have key pieces in your wardrobe that you can create many outfits from. And they all look a little bit different. 😊

This is of course fabulous. 😉. You can, as you know, swap navy or gray for the black. Or even go all light colored neutrals: white, cream, ecru, tan. By varying the texture of your items: linen, cotton blend, cashmere, silk…you can go completely tonal and it still looks interesting. For jewelry a pair of hoops or gold studs, a simple chain necklace and perhaps an inexpensive bracelet or watch. Obviously nothing you couldn’t easily replace if lost. At 65 I no longer wear even low heels. Gorgeous flats, sandals, loafers are everywhere. These are just some of my choices that I have learned through experience that work for me. My critical travel garment is a beige/camel trench coat with wool zip-in lining and a hood! Seems like something to haul around while cruising down the Yangtse River, but I folded it atop my duffel & used the belt to strap it in place between the handles. Left the liner with my things in my hotel room in Xian for a rainy trip out to the Terracotta Warriors. On a plane, roll it all into the hood for a pillow. By the time I got to Manchuria, it topped my blanket on my bunk on the train to keep me warm at night. Despite overheated Trans-Siberian Railway, I still needed that bit extra to sleep. Crucial to survive fall in Russia & Poland. For long trips, or multiple weather/climate changes, this trench coat is my most crucial wardrobe item.

Thanks so much for the ideas with jeans. I'm retired and live in a rural area where jeans are the "uniform." When we travel I always have the problem of how to look good without having to own a travel wardrobe in addition to my everyday wardrobe. Always appreciate jeans ideas!

I agree with the concept of this video. Taking items in neutral colours that mix and match make perfect sense. Some of these ideas don't work for me (oversized anything drowns my 5-foot frame) but are easy enough to substitute. What I can't wrap my head around is how you pack linen tops, and a linen jacket along with a trench coat, jeans, shoes, bag, makeup, etc. all in a carry-on suitcase and not have everything look like a hot wrinkled mess on arrival?

You make it seem so easy, thank you! Makes a very nice and beautiful capsule garderobe ❤️🥰 love it!

Love the simplicity of it all Frédérique. The sum does seems to come greater than its parts. I would like to bring along a couple of silk scarves to add a dash of color to the brilliant black and white color scheme (in red or camel or gold).
