How to overwinter dahlias, expert advice from the National Trust School of Gardening

Late autumn or early winter is the time to dig up and protect your dahlia tubers if you want to protect them from frost. In this video, Goddards senior gardener Tom Longridge lifts them and shows two different ways to store them to ensure they'll be ready to bloom again next year.

    Excellent clear guide but omitted to tell us to LABEL THE NAME OF THE DAHLIA before storing for the winter

    If it gets really cold, an unheated green house or shed may well not be frost free
