How to Overgrip Pickleball Paddles (My New Method)

I have wrapped probably over a hundred paddles in the past few years with LOTS of trial and error. This is a method that I've developed that doesn't require any tools or cutting-- just a clean and easy method to get a tight, snug overgrip everytime.
This is my favorite grip set up:
Hesacore Grip: shop.hesacore....
UDrippin Overgrip: www.udrippin.c...
Use Code: EDJU to save 10%
Other Pickleball Gear I'm using right now: linktr.ee/edju...

    Ordered a Hesacore grip per your recommendation and it came in today. Ordered the white (medium). Fairly easy to install with these instructions, however it didn’t go on quite as easily as the example in this video but either way it’s installed and in one piece! Thanks for the info and recommendation. Really looking forward to trying it out. I’m using a Palbea over grip and it feels awesome over the Hesacore. That’s a brand I would recommend you give a try if you haven’t already. They’re made in Italy and extremely tacky. I’m of the belief that the tackier the over grip the better. Great combination of the two. Thanks again for the info.

    Ursino by wrapping the opposite direction for left hand players. Y0u will have a better grip on your paddle and your will feel the contour of the grip and it wont slip in your hands because the ridges from the overgrip are facing the inside of your hand. I hope this makes sense@@UrsinoPro

    Hey Ed I love your videos - curious if you have ever tried to use the tapered side of the over wrap towards the paddle face (top of the grip) rather than starting with the taper side at the bottom of the grip? I’m asking because i noticed you are stretching it to make it taper but the taper is already built into the design. I’ve found it works nicely with the U-Drippin over wraps. Take care!! 🙏🏻

    The paint grit on mine lasts about 4-5 months until it’s pretty smooth. Selkirk will replace it for free the first time as a courtesy. And then after that you need a legit defect to get a replacement. Raw carbon fiber typically lasts a bit longer than paint grit. Wait for the vanguard control- coming soon 👀

    The hesacore grip replaces the stock grip. You remove the stock grip and put the hesacore grip on. And overgrips are used to customize your paddle to provide extra tackiness if desired, and a thicker handle if desired. It also prolongs the life of the stock grip. Overgrips are pretty cheap compared to the stock grips and easy to replace. You can essentially refresh your grip with a new, tacky overgrip every day if you want. But typically they last a lot longer then that. Personal preference on how often you replace them.

  • @goldenchildtheater

    Stock grips are too thin people usually add an over grip for more tackiness and it’s easily replaceable

    Imo the best way to do this is to take a ruler and width wise market with a pencil exactly half of the width of the grip where the taper ends. What this does is it allows you to see your overlap percentage after the first 360 degrees by seeing how much space there is under the mark or whether or not you can see the mark at all. If you perfectly wrap it to barely cover the mark you will be left with a perfect 50% overlap and if you just follow the wrap down your grip wont have any bumps or valleys it will be completely smooth all the way down. This is accomplished since when one layer ends another begins so there is always just 2 layers not one or 3 that way I can feel the hesacore underneath instead if the hesacore plus all the ridges and valleys I made with a non perfect 50/50 overlap.

  • @CurtPrice

    @CurtPrice

    3 ай бұрын

    I think this is overkill. Overwraps can be eyeballed when applied. Super easy to get the overlap you want. No need to bring pencils and rulers into this. 😂
