God sent me this video I swear! I got my first silk press in… 5 years? Washed it yesterday and had so much heat damage i sobbed. I did cut off most of it, but couldn’t cut off all of it since the rest was in the front part of my hair. So much growth & fullness was ruined. BUT, hearing that your most of your hair bounced back WITHOUT cutting it in under 6 months gives me so much hope. I’m hoping to have your good fortune as I journey back. Never again will I silk press.🤣

When I transitioned from perm to natural, I never big chopped. I did rollers sets with magnetic rollers And curl creme. No blow dryers or hot combs for me. I clipped my ends about every 2 months as necessary. My curls are all the way back . I love the thick texture of my hair as opposed to the bone straight. I have only straightened once in the last 5 years. Enjoying the journey !

Thank you so much for making this video. I have fine hair and have been natural for many years. So not a novice to caring for my own hair. However, when I tell you I always get heat damage no matter what I do. It’s like I either have to be okay with it and just be a straight natural or be a complete curly hair girl and never straighten my hair. I would choose the latter but my hair doesn’t wear curly styles well that I think looks best for me since it’s fine. I have used the Aphogee 2 step and you’re right that it’s immediate sort of but doesn’t last. I will definitely check out your other videos and try your recommendations because I don’t want to cut my hair. If anything I will get a sew in and just grow it out that way trimming as I go.

Yes you can still use heat just in a different way. Just try steaming your hair in sections and try to work in your deep conditioner. I think it's best that you do that because the steam/ deep conditioner can penetrate your hair shaft better.

I never straightened my hair, nor even use a blow dryer, recently I went for the first time ever to a beauty salon to get rid of a reddish brown hair color I had in my hair and wanted to go back to blonde (I had blonde hair before putting the reddish brown dye) and I told the lady I never use heat on my hair, she straightened my hair TWICE and I didn’t liked it because it wasn’t really my style but I still payed because the color turned out to be beautiful and I love it, but the next day I used a hair mask to bring my curls back, but half my hair towards the ends doesn’t want to curl and I’m getting so frustrated and mad at myself because I could’ve told the lady to not do it and just go home and style it as usual.

Yes you can the only trouble is relaxers don’t just raise the cuticle they sometimes remove the cuticle all together. So if there is no cuticle there to seal it won’t be as effective xx

@@tatianaprettyy because you want to get rid of damaged ends. No one forces you, but if you're trying to archive super healthy hair cutting the ends when they start to show sign of damage and split ends is a must. But, again, you're not forced. I, myself, have heat damaged hair but I won't cut it until it reaches a certain length.
