How to Overcome Cigarette Cravings in 3 Minutes | Nasia Davos

This is a simple mindfulness technique you can do whenever you have a craving. It doesn’t matter where you are when the craving hits. All you have to do is repeat the steps of this exercise, and by the end of it, the craving will subside, and you will feel better.
If you’re having a craving now, do the exercise with me. If not, practice now and do it when you need it.
This technique is based on the work of Sarah Bowen, Ph.D. In a study, participants who used mindfulness techniques like this cut down 37% of their smoking (check link in the resources section)

Been telling everyone in my life and especially my gf that I’d quit cigarettes. I’m 5 days in and I tried to walk to a gas station to buy some. I’m 21 years old but I lost my ID recently. They didn’t sell to me. Took the walk of shame back home and felt relieved that I wasn’t able to buy them

If you get the craving, just think of it like the nicotine addiction is dying.

Praying for everyone struggling with this addiction. May sound crazy but I’m 38. Been smoking on & off since 10. One person commented this woman is a light to the world. I 100% agree. Thanks✌🏾

But do you see how this is still feeding the loop? Going up the hill and back down? That’s a loop. We are trying to break the loop. The only way to do that is by stopping. Most people stop and still crave it after it’s all out of their system. It’s not a scary thing it’s something to jump in the air about and be happy 😝😁 you stopped smoking! It’s like driving a American car all your life and then buying a brand new European car. The indicator and wipers will take a while to get use to (the trigger of a craving) but you’re so excited about the new car you don’t care because you know you will get use to it hahaha

Interesting, I used this technique to climb my way out of suicidal thoughts. Once I reached the top of the mountain, I would jump off and take flight. Flying took me to a whole new space and I was also able to work through the root of my emotions.

Finally! Found someone who knows what it is like being a smoker and gives great advice in the ways of quitting. I have always thought that Pharma was laughing at me as I tried to quit because I was still wasting money on nicotine patches etc. God bless you, you are a light to the world.

I used Nasia's technique to quit smoking and repeated the mantra she suggested, " I want to breathe" , and during that I would do controlled inhaling and exhaling breathing exercises. It has helped me in my journey to drop the habit, I can't thank her enough😁

It’s been nearly two days off nicotine. I vaped for almost three years, never missing a single day. I went through three Juul pods in 2 days. Now that I’m off, I feel as though I’m going insane-but I’ve started to like the cravings! It means I’m closer to getting rid of the addiction for good.

This was very helpful! Instead of a mountain though, I fight an imaginary manifistation of my addiction/craving for the championship belt 😂
