How to operate a concrete finishing machine (power trowel)

Ойын-сауық

A concrete finishing machine is an essential tool that we need for finishing concrete. Smaller slabs can be done by hand, but larger slabs require a power trowel. A finishing machine will give you flatter concrete slabs and also will give you a tighter finish (slicker) if required. A power trowel will also allow you to work less and finish concrete even in very hot weather because it will finish concrete faster than if it was done by hand. Learning how to run a power trowel is easy, but knowing when to finish the concrete is knowledge obtained by experience.

I’ve looked at quite a few vids on using a trowel machine. No one else has explained it as well as you. Thanks. The repetition of key points such as pitch of blades speed of trowel etc enables it to sink into my thick bones. Seems you’re one of those guys who genuinely wants the viewer to understand It’s a delight to come across (and subscribe to) your channel !

Emphasis on cutting/ filling to the right and finishing to the left! Always finish to the left! Also if you have a hole, position the hole on the rear left side of the blades and push down on the machine and it will help you fill holes. Oh put the edge to your left and it helps to pan your edges going backwards wile you lift up on the machines handle bars and it fills all the holes and makes for a flatter edge. Your edge man will thank you for that!

Why in hell are there 5 humans that have hit the thumbs down on this video 🤯! Eric and Co. just know that us faithful lurkers and followers appreciate your time, energy, and effort in producing these videos. As a hopeful barndo owner (one day) I have learned and can see local builders in GA make mistakes you tell us to watch out for. Side note: if you wanted to design an etched tile like design on your concrete to have a “wood floor” look would this be possible and at what stage would you do this?

I love this man. My dad was I c garage of building part of the northwest built more hospitals mills and precision manufacturing plants like intel. You do an amazing job but he always told me the good finishers never have to add water because a spot is getting to dry they were just always good enough to stay on top of everything. This was in the 60s and 70s so just a different era. Also not it axes mad respect my friend we all have our different opinions and perspectives.

You make it look eazy and it is if you have the (experience ) hear in central California it get really hot also and by the end of a hot hot day you’re more than ready for a cold one🍺. I find that all cement mason journeymen are the same no matter wear they are from like a brotherhood. Concrete will chew you up and spit you out if your not in control of it.
