How to Open Locks with a Lock Pick Gun

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video demonstrates the process of opening locks using a lockpick gun, also called a snap gun. A lockpick gun is designed to forcefully and quickly unlock a pin-tumbler-based lock without utilizing the key. To operate it, a thin steel rod is inserted into the lock, and the snap gun rapidly fires the rod against all lock pins simultaneously. This action momentarily frees the cylinder, allowing it to be turned using a tension wrench. The snap gun is an alternative to a conventional lockpick, eliminating the need for other techniques, such as single-pin picking or raking to free the pins.

The first snap guns were developed to assist police officers in opening locks without the additional training required for traditional lockpicking techniques. Although lock picking is often associated with crime, snap guns are not commonly used by criminals because concealment is difficult and the device will tend to attract attention from law enforcement. Some legal jurisdictions may classify snap guns as burglary tools or otherwise limit their possession. A person may then be required to be a police officer or locksmith by trade, or to have some other legal sanction, to be in possession of a snap gun. Make sure you can legally own one in your country before you try to buy one and only open locks you own or have permission to open.
Lock picking is the art of unlocking a lock by analyzing and manipulating the components of the lock device without the original key. In addition, ideal lock picking should not damage the lock itself, allowing it to be rekeyed for later use, which is especially important with antique locks that would be impossible to replace if destructive entry methods were used. Although lock picking can be associated with criminal intent, it is an essential skill for a locksmith and is often pursued by law-abiding citizens as a useful skill to learn or simply a hobby. The move towards combination locks for high-security items such as safes was intended to remove the weakest part of the lock: its keyhole. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_pi...

    This is a scam! I bought one "pick gun" to open a phillips 112 lock and I spent so much time trying that the pick [made of a very cheap material] ended up breaking. Then, other people tried it and the inexpensive lock ended up winning. 🔒 🤣

    Of course it was meant to be a joke, just to be clear. But now that you say that... i'm really thinking about your point. I mean, wouldn't it be plain vandalism as long as I don't steal anything (aside from crimes due to irresponsibly firing a weapon)? I'm no laws expert and i didn't do any research on that. Just my spontanous thoughts.

  • @AnonYMooseBoG

    @AnonYMooseBoG

    7 жыл бұрын

    DominikHatHunger That's actually a great question. My first instinct is that it's just breaking and entering along with willful destruction of property (type of vandalism charge) assuming no one is in the house. If there's someone present, though, I could see a possibility for assault charges since the occupant would be afraid for their life. An armed robbery charge may be possible- if there's an occupant, then the case would be that you didn't have time to do much stealing. That one may or may not stick. A good lawyer would probably be able to get a plea deal with only the breaking and entering charge if there's no occupant. If there's an occupant, then the deal would likely include assault as well.

    Funny to me how 99% of people refuse to hold the pick level. Works way better and more often when you're not at an angle like seen in the video. Also, no need to click it as fast as you can...just hold it level and give it a click, ..click..click. that works 90% of the time. When you over click, you're forcing pins that were already set to drop again. Sometimes less is more.

    There is a specialty lock, and this lock, some say, is impenetrable. Others say it's always open by default, just try engaging the inner mechanics, and it opens up. To some, this lock is a dangerous hindrance, barring them from items and information critical to their very survival. To others, this lock is nothing more than a game. A complex fidget spinner, with no real practical use to be found. It's there to amuse themselves, but opening the lock to access it's content is not a priority. Yet, truth be told, this lock and others like it hold the KEY to our perceived existences. Our personas. Our biases and stereotypes. Our tastes, mannerisms, and beliefs/morals. It's been said that these locked vessels even hold inside them completely different, albeit, equally important locks to other endless Mobius strips of data, most of which we don't yet understand. These. These locked containers are what I wish to access, by ethical or non-ethical means. I don't wish to damage anything while gaining entrance, but if it's life or death on the line, I'll smash a window or set charges on the door to get in by all means necessary to save a fellow human being. These are the locks of addiction. Have you or has anyone you know lost their keys? It's okay to ask for help. Not all of us can pick locks. But everyone of us can pick up the phone. We can pick the right time. We can pick up the pieces, and start again. Don't lose hope. Happiness is there, friend. You just have to figure out how to unlock it.
