How to observe total internal reflection of light with a semicircular glass block - Physics Rox

In this video, Ms Hoo shows how to observe total internal reflection with a semicircular glass block and a ray box.
This is a lab practical which students taking SPM and IGCSE Physics must know how to conduct.

If the ray came from the middle of the upper semicircle, will the ray remain the same and the path will not deviate?

Yes. In that case, at both boundaries (air to glass, glass to air), the incident angle is zero and refracted angle is zero. So the path of the light ray would be in a straight line with no deviation.
