Hi folks, welcome to Not Only Code!
In this video I'm talkind about how to negotiate salary when you are afraid of negotiation.
There are a lot of reasons why you might not want to negotiate - maybe the offer is already pretty good, maybe in the past you had some bad experience, maybe you have impostor syndrome, or you are simply afraid!
No matter what the method I present will help you to negotiate a better offer. Give it a try!

Hi, this is very useful as many of us find this very uncomfortable. How would you handle a situation where they offer you what you asked in the first place since some applications give you option to fill in expected salary and you’ve done it. Or even they ask at start of interviews. But in the mean time you’ve done some extra research or gotten more insight into the job itself and you think you should get more.

Hi, great question! It'll be even more uncomfortable, but you should stand your ground and still tell the company you want to negotiate the offer. It's probable they'll say "hey, we offered you what you wanted, it's unfair that you now ask for more", so you need to have some response prepared. You can say this was the minimum that you were willing to accept and not the final salary, or that you did research and you believe you should be paid more, or that you consider other, higher offers. Also, if during the interview process you never discussed the salary (and only put it in the application), you can say that you expected this number is just starting point for the negotiation. It's more difficult if you agreed on the salary during the first interview, and it's possible the company won't be willing to negotiate, but whatever happens don't let them guilt you into accepting their initial offer. If you know you can make more, explain them that you will not accept the current offer, and be ready to continue looking for other opportunities. If you accept a low offer you'll regret it, so if you can afford to spend more time searching for a new job, go for it.
