When its almost winter for their hibernation they will slow their movement for the winter because they sense it coming

U have got different ytong when u made the second nest for the mrymica rubra if so where did u get it from

Hello. I have a queen aunt with babies in a test tube. I have a gel farm im going to attach the chamber too. How would i get em out to transfer them to a new farm or clean it down the road?

the move from the test tube when i fist got them into a bigger one was very stressfull i regret it this move to a bigger nest should go better sadly both workers died one i tried to pick up with tweezers and he died a few days after that he looked in a bad state and the other got stuck in something sticky i tried to use a q tip soaked in water to clean his legs of so the wont stick togeter he died on the qtip the queen lives on and drinks alot of sugar water hasent been out in the foraging box of the thing much i just hope the best for her no clue if those eggs i saw workers take some into the nest so i felt safe throwing it away but they might have moved them back onto the moldy cotton ball before the throw away i also regret that i have made many mistakes but as long as i can provide them with the best life the could live in my care in a non terrarium setup i dont have the room ill have to move the nest location across my room when i get my hedge hog it will live in my closet where it will be darker they are living there currently

How were you feeding the first colony in the test tube?? Its was very full and they were all hanging round the entrance...

what kind of species of tropical ants to start with? and can you show some images. because I'm inspired by the videos you have about the ants

I recommend Pheidole Noda. They are very easy to keep when considering tropical ants :-)

Can they not see through the red film? Like how does it help besides they can't see the color red. Could I use this ocer foil? Also where could I buy some?

Where do you get your YTONG in the UK?

I have a thatcher ant nest in my back yard. I would like to move it into the wild. the nest is about 2-3 years old. Is it possible?

Light doesn't work at all. My queen just sits in full out light not caring for shit.

I have 3 pavement ant queens (one is forsure gonna be successful) and a aphaenogaster queen who layed eggs 2 days ago!

Nice video by the way! I’m having issues moving my messor barbarus colony into there new nest. There is a queen and 20 workers. The company I bought it off recommended me a nest that was way to big but being the beginner, I went ahead and bought it and the outworld. The queen is in the nest but the workers are still in the tube. It’s been 4 days now which isn’t that long but I have the test tube elevated angled towards the nest with a light on it at all times. The queen is alone which worries me.

Thank you pal! In all honesty I would keep a colony of this size in the test tube. Try and get the Queen to go back in and then pop the test tube in a container. Stick the test tube down with some blu-tak so it doesn’t roll around or put a small amount of soil/sand in the basin. You can feed and nurture your small colony this way until they are ready for the nest :-) If you haven’t already, I recommend feeding them grass seeds. They love them! :-D

Ants Britania I don’t think I’m going to be able to get the queen back in the test tube and the company who supplied me with the nest and and ants told me to move them in after a week of receiving them. I really don’t know what I’m going to do! Will they die?

I was playing Empires of the Undergrowth and silently wished I had a captive ant colony. The next day now I have a colony of pavement ants bringing all their larva into my window right by my gaming computer. 😅 Was wondering what I could place that they would be interested in moving into?

Add a bit of water with the honey. So it isn’t too thick 👍

It was really hard and eventually the nest did not work so I moved them to a natural setup

You are right! But my channel isn't named after the female personification of the isle of Britain. It was simply named "Britania" because it was the first thing that popped into my head when making this channel :-D
