Thanks for this video! I've always wanted to know how these were strapped! Side note, the operator...man he needs a bit of a safety reminder. Moving the arm right when you where tying the strap to the bucket and bringing the boulder to the pond when you were talking to the camera had me shaking my head. 1 moment of carelessness can change another man's life. I hope you said something and he watches this at 3:15 and 3:55 for your sake.

Great video! A little more info on a couple of things would help a great deal. The strap - what length and strength rating do you use for rocks like the one you lifted? Also, you mentioned putting fabric underneath the large rock so the liner isn't damaged. What type of fabric and where do you typically buy it? Thanks.

For this rock we used a 12’ endless loop strap. Non woven fabric from Aquascape is what we use

Lol clearly you don't do this for a living... maybe if they were lifting a boulder that's a couple of tons i wouldn't use a strap in that condition, but for the size of the rocks they are using is just perfect!

@@DetroitSportFanatic I'm a crane operator and a rigger in nyc, I don't usually deal with boulders but torn straps larger than a 1/2 inch is a huge no no. If an inspector See's it in your rigging box you get a $5000.00 fine, and safety guy on the job site will kick you off the job

That is understandable! But that's just b.s. safety guidelines. You can tell by the noise the strap makes when it's about to snap. You are also part of a union I'm assuming. Plenty of money to buy an endless supply of straps lol.
