How To Mount Pro-Line Krawlers on RC4WD Beadlock White Wagon Wheels

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I show how I mount some Pro-Line Krawlers on the RC4WD White Wagon wheels and then I take them out for a test run. The White Wagons are beadlock wheels so they can be kinda difficult if you don't know what you are doing.

Great video. I just went through this exact process. The RC4WD wagon wheels that come with the hex hubs also come with a couple longer screws to make getting them started easier.

Thanks for this video! I just ordered these wheels and 2 different size hex adapters, I also ordered the rc4wd ground hawg tires so the ring should work I'm hoping. I would have had a much harder time figuring it out if I hadn't watched you do it. It looks time consuming and to some people that's not fun but I'm retired and I also build scale models of tractor trailers so I'm good! Lots of patience needed for this hobby too. Those ground hawg tires were on a lot of trucks in the 70s and 80s. All the truck pull and serious mud guys ran them.

Like you said in the end, you hope it helped me out, I think it did! I ordered these wheels without really knowing much about them, I certainly didn't know they'd be this much work to assemble, so the tips were really valuable. Also nice to see your process figuring it out, and of course testing them in the end. Really well put together video, was worth all 20 minutes watch time!

I was trying build a scale looking Ford Bronco. I had the very same problem with the RC4Wd stamped steel wheels. I needed to change to a 12mm hex. RC4Wd does sell the adaptors. I had the very same problem, I wanted the studs and bolts on the outside of the wheel. I was not able to do that. I ended up buying another set of wheels that were plastic just so I could get that look that I was after. I guess that is the way it goes sometimes.

If you want the rubber to be stickier or make them sticky again, spray the treads/lugs with PB-Blaster. Let it sit on there for no more than 3 or 4 minutes. Any longer and it can start to destroy the rubber and lugs could tear-off. You can use Simple Green or other de-greaser to neutralize and get the PB-Blaster off.

Hey great vid! If you take a dremel or file to those cap head screws you were trying to use with the wheel hex, you should be able to make enough room so that you can mount them like you were saying so that the actual nut is facing outward and it will give it more of a scale look 👍 Congrats in the milestone btw, keep up the great vids!

Question: Did you lube and clean the Traxxass tires, prior to that first run? I have 3 sets of wheels for my Bronco, for diffeerent type runs, this includes a set of the original Traxxass wheels, they are good tires, though deffinitly not as grippy as my Hyrax (Predator) or the Pit Bull (Alien) compounds though they can last a lot longer and cost less. I purchased four complete sets of the Traxxas stock Bronco wheels for $20.00/set online. My Hyrax and Pitbulls are mounted on Aluminum beadlock wheels.

I have a set of wheels I've not been able to get any tire on them because it's like that inner ring isn't the right size or something. For a while I just thought I had to use a different brand of tire because the rubber bead of the proline tires was just too thick, but if this ring wasn't so thick then I believe I could get any tire to fit on these wheels with no issue

Hell, we have similar wheels on a 1976 F-150 SuperCab that's been sitting for a few years in the back yard. They were intended for my 1958 Ford 100. But they've been on the F-150 for the last... 18 or so years, now I guess it's been. Damn I'm getting old. I was still in gradeschool (so, 10 or younger) when we got that truck. I turn 29 in December.

The only thing I don't like about certain beadlock wheels is they aren't vented to allow the tire to flex. I have a couple sets for my Summit. The one set is RC4WD Rok Lox on a cheap set of chinese bead locks (vented) with no foams and the holes hot glued shut. They were my first set of beadlocks with my first set of aftermarket tires. I had my eyes set on RC4WD Rock Crushers for a long time and they were out of stock since I first seen them. A week after I bought the Rok Lox, the Crushers came in stock finally. I right away ordered the Crushers and I didn't want to swap tires out on my old bead locks so I bought a new set. This time the wheels were Dick Cepek, unfortunately not vented. I could drill holes in the wheels or tires, but I really don't have the desire to do so. My Rok Lox I had left the foam out and run just ambient air pressure. They flex a little too much and the Summit rolls more than it does with the crushers or the stocks. I will put the foams back in them and unplug the holes, but it's about 20 or so screws per side and I will have to undo them all to prevent rips to the tires or foams. So needless to say, I'm not in a hurry to unscrew about 200 screws. Lol. The wheels you put on your bronco definitely look good and look as tho they are vented. I have been on the search also for 2 stage foams for a 8.26 inch tall tire. I have yet to have found any.

These tires are air tight it seems. They have air pressure in them. I've taken them out a few times and I like them better than the stock tires. I don't have a lot of experience with crawlers but they seem great to me.

@@kevinperry5458 ohh I know. I run my Summit in water that is deep enough it floats. The venting helps a huge amount if you stick to dry and rocks. I personally would like a wheel that's vented but doesn't let water in, impossible I know, but would help a whole hell of a lot. I run my Summit up and down a creek bed that is very rocky near my house.

I'll check it out next time before I buy .. actually you can buy wheels with tires already mounted a lot cheaper than just the R.C 4.W D wheels .. they're all made by the same company anyway
