    Starting fluid works great. Use to use that trick way back in the day when I worked for a full service gas station.

    Another tip: remove the valve core when seating the bead. Makes getting the initial seal much easier.

    James Xikis Unfortunately many air chucks won't open with the core removed, but if you have one that will that works great!

    Probably worth finding one if you do this. I only do dirtbike tires with tubes or Tubliss. However, I have a clamp on air chuck from a really cheap something or other that would work without the valve core.

    Best tip I have seen is that the threads on a blow gun are the same threads as the valve stem. When seating tires on the bead, remove the valve core, screw the gun on, soap the beads and hit it with the blow gun. You will be amazed how easily they seat.

    Never use a petroleum product to lubricate rubber. It will cause premature decomposition. Use soap instead.

    When the tire is on the wheel loose when setting the bead. Shove the tire down to get the bottom bead started, then gently lift up on the tread to bring the top bead to the wheel. Pro tip. Hunnerd-n-10!

    Thanks for the reply next trick is to squirter starter fluid into it and throw a match at it. NOT inside. Works - even on stiff truck tires - that's a decent quick squirt or you blow the tire up! there are KZread video of it - and the strap would come in handy to keep the center from expanding out and thus force the sidewalls up. works really well in the field also, as it'll be the only way to get the tire back on.

    Real good info, never thought about getting a manual tire machine. But some suggestions, water mixed with some dawn soap is cheaper then we 40, also a com-along and taking the valve step vale apart and blasting it will work better

    Must be nice to mount a tire all by hand that easily lol. Never had one that didn't need a ton of muscle and several tire spoons. Of course different tires will be stiffer or softer. I have to do a set for an old Honda quad this week and just breaking the bead will be rough as the tires are original from 1986. Will try the board and truck method and hope it goes easy. Also don't have a fancy stand so doing it on the ground with regular spoons. Wish me luck lol.

    Put a tube in tires that are way away from rim. Then air up to seat beads. Deflate and only break one bead. Remove tube, then you can pull up against seated bead to help seat opposite bead .

  • @SXSBlog

    @SXSBlog

    7 жыл бұрын

    It would simply take too much power to turn them and bog the machine down. The sand really robs a lot of power so a lightweight tire combination that is easy to turn is key.

    Somehow things replies are getting out of order - So the Strap didn't work because tire is too flexy. The next thing was Starter Fluid - Spray it in and throw a match at it (lighted) and it will explode into shape. Don't spray too much, just a big quick shot, then light it off and the tire will pop into place. (make sure you went to bathroom before doing this trick). MUST be done outside. This works great in the field when you pop a tire off. It is the only way to get them back on - especially big tough ones (trucks) or too flexy ones (like yours). There are numerous vids of this on KZread. Now everthing is in order.

  • @dc85337

    @dc85337

    On last reply - neglected to add that a strap around middle will keep it in shape as sidewalls expand out. Now there is a vid that is worth seeing.
