Thank you! 4 year old video, still helping R6 owners!

I'm a mechanic and with CARS after you put coolant you let the vehicle run with cap off to let air pockets out and to make sure it's topped off. Just my 2 cents.

And, to get the mixing Ratio correct; He should have filled it with Coolant, let it run, and then Drain it --- so that way the remaining Distilled Water is flushed out. Then, fill it with new Coolant, again, "burp" it, and then top it off... At least, that's what I'm going to do! - Gotta keep it 'Cool' (😎)!

@@johnathandoerty1021 what do you mean by "burp it" Johnathan? Im about to do a coolant flush on my bike and I want to do it correctly, if you could help my endeavor, much appreciate it.

@@hugoguimaraes9807 burp it means getting air bubbles out. Run it with the cap off and you can squeeze hoses to help get air out.

Hey Blockhead, when you're pouring oil or coolant hold the bottle sideways. It doesn't spill as much ;)

The service manual also calls for disconnecting the water pump inlet hose for a complete drain. Not sure if that makes a big difference or not?

What's the plastic reservoir for ? Is it for overflow? I never understood.

What about bleeding the system though ? It must’ve had air pockets after

R6 has almost as much plastic as my Vette, dayumn :D Clear and well filmed destructions on how to do this chore though.

what about air bubble ? at the end d'ont see when you remove air pocket

Will this cause the bike to not start?

i'm an auto tech, but not bikes...do you not need to bleed air pockets out on a bike?

I did these exact steps i filled the radiator until i couldnt the coolant went down lil bit i topped it off n put it in the reservoir, I let the bike run it went to 230 degrees idk Why tbh

Sooooo much freaking fairings to take off!!

What about bleeding the system. I let mine run and it constantly overflowed out the reservoir and I’m trying to figure out how to bleed the system.

Mines got to 212 and shut off and fans cut on

You should have cleaned the reservoir out, I bet there’s gunk in it. And you shouldn’t have left over coolant for the R6 with that coolant you should actually be a little short

Was that concentrate you poured in? From my experience, the concentrate is thicker like you described until it’s watered down.

:42 you can see on the bottom of the bottle it is premixed.

For a track bike this is one of the most in accessible bikes I've ever worked on its actually sad. No reason I should have to remove that much to fill my coolant

Save yourself a trip, get 2 engine ice containers. One isn’t enough for an 08 r6. Btw^^^
