How to modify a Harbor Freight 1:2 ton engine stand to fit motorcycle engine
In this episode of MotorcycleRewind we modify a Harbor Freight 1/2 ton engine to work with vintage motorcycle engines. The first engine we put on the stand is a Honda CB360. Has loads of adjustment, will be able to work with many motorcycle engines.

I have a cb750 engine on it now. It makes it so much better. Thanks for watching.
Interesting solution. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for watching. The next mod for the engine stand will be to add a place for a battery, coils and throttle. So it becomes a test stand too.

@@motorcyclerewind Good idea.
Love this! You have any videos of just engine work while working on that stand? I've seen a good few of your videos and love that you started in your forties and have a real gift and collection going - I am the same, just started riding a year ago at 44 and now have a garage full of projects. Thanks again.

That is brilliant. Sorry your engine peed on ya. Hope you have overcome the trauma. 😁

Pee’d all over me. Thanks for watching.
Great idea...I have a question about the brackets you made: Do they put any pressure on the case? In other words, the brackets are bolted into the engine case, but imagine if those bolts are somewhat loose, the brackets could then slightly spin and start to pinch into the engine case. Have you seen that happen with your work here? cheers and thank you for this idea.

I haven't had any problems. So far have had a CB350, CB360, Cb450 and CB750 with zero challenges. Thanks for watching.

@@motorcyclerewind Hey since I have you here...I tried accessing your google doc with the specs and materials but it's locked behind privacy settings? I sent a share request. If you aren't familiar with google doc share settings, I can help.

@@motorcyclerewind I got access...than k you!
Thank you so much for this. Do you think this setup could handle something larger/heavier, like an engine from a 4-cyl liter bike?

I don't see why not! You could use thicker angle iron to be safe..
I did same thing for my Honda cb550 and cb500 engines.

@@motorcyclerewind Yes. To clean and paint. To flip and work on oil pan and sump screen. To move in your garage and keep out of the way when needed. I think I got my stand for $38 on sale and spent like $50 on all the hardware I needed to convert it to a stand. Highly recommend if you don't have room for a workbench engine stand.

@@Fezzler61 I am workin on putting the components together to turn it into a test stand also. So I can run it before its in the frame. Don't need much, Battery, coils, throttle and a starter button.
What are the measurements for the angle iron.?

@journeyquest1 You forgot to warn us which school failed to educate you and teach you good manners, instead of majoring in diaper filling. But here’s the thing: Given it’s obvious that the original product is made of metal, what reason could you possibly have to believe it could be modified using anything other than some degree of metal working skills?
