On my 5V 60 amp sms the pot is not attached to Vcc but is in the bottom leg of the voltage divider and is grounded. When using a pot as a rheostat it is good practice to link the slider to one end. This prevents massive loss of control if the slider bounces when being turned.

Nice videos very helpfull But at least try load with your project And if the potentiometer, variable resistor break, you will destroy the whole power supply + the loads
