Thank you! I'm glad you found them helpful
I model all the time but sometimes I do architecture like this just to doodle. This kind of stuff tickles your brain in just the right way. So satisfying
The choice of the piano background is a good add. It is calm yet there is something to fill up the sound between talking.
Ho stop, please….give me a moment to catch my breath and pick my jaw from the floor…..WOW! Incredible! Thank you for this amazing piece of work. Learned a lot from you!
Wow! I always wondered how something as ornate as columns, arches, and those intersections of both of these and a dome (as seen in museums) would be built in Blender. Thank you! I learned SO much here!!
This is exactly the kind of channel i was searching for!!! I have been deepening myself in classical architecture and wanted to recreate it in blender. Thanks for the help
i can't believe it's free to watch. I've learned a lot. thank you, It is so underrated!
Absolutely amazing tutorial, the intricate ornaments and decorations really make this creation shine. Thank you for such a great resource!
Banged my head against a wall (arch) for so long. This technique is eloquent. Thank you!
just discovering your videos now im new to blender and I want to make neoclassical architecture and youre literally the only person i see doing this kind of stuff so thank you please don't stop youre a big help
Wow, an incredible guide, and surprisingly in depth one at that Thank you so much!

You're a very experienced 3D artist
Very good stuff, thanks.
just beautiful, modeling is shill and cool, and if you want even more freedom detailing the asset you can make a trim sheet with all the things you want on it, it's even cooler...thanks hbitproject for the quality video...much appreciated

VERY COOL!! Thanks!
you can turn on "keep corners" on the sub D modifier so it wont smooth them out
Really great video! You have really concise workflows that break down complex stuff into simple shapes. Thanks for posting! Have you ever looked into doing trim sheets for the ornaments to save on poly count?

AAA content. Focused, committed, beautiful. The way you handled the arraying of your [Curvature + Shrinkwrap target] made me wonder whether you had explored the use of Collection Instances, and rejected those, for some reason. At first sight, there seems to be a lot of opportunity to use those to organize elements of your project... but maybe they would just be confusing.
Crazy man
Man you born to be a teacher, you explain the things so easily and why should do every movement.
Wow absolutely awesome! Are you going to make a video about the texture part with Substance painter?

light in the darkness 🤗
A great video 👍🏼 I started learning blender recently and the tutorial was a bit too fast for me a week ago, but after a few other easier tutorials from polygon runway I finally was able to finish 8 minutes of the video 😅 But I don't understand how to extend the column non destructively like in 8.08 minute. Everytime I try to extend it the insertion and extrusion in the column disappears and I am left with a smooth looking column. Does anyone know how to fix it? 😭
Have you ever considered making long, paid tutorials? I'd pay to see in-depth tutorials about things such as modular building, texturing, etc.
Thank you very much for the tutorial.I've almost got through it but got stuck at the point where you were choosing Faces in object properties. Something terrible appears instead of your beautiful order. Corr.: as soon as I applied Array and Curve modificators to curved decorations, it worked.
thanks you just teach me something
There's a lot of things you don't mention in your video, that can be super tricky for users who aren't as proficient in blender. Otherwise, fantastic work!
Wow
Glad I found your channel. Want to get into do castles and a lot of medieval buildings with a lot of Arches. My first issue is mirroring, when I do the first mirror in the x and y, I get a full circle. Using Blender 3.4 and 2.9.3 same result. No good at using a mirror and I didn't see any other special keys you used to get your mirror perspective. Will continue on and maybe it will sort itself out. Thanks again.

Hey, thank you for this amazing tutorial. Been working with blender for quite a while and still learned some amazing things. To be fair, modeling is not my strongsuit. I have a question i think somebody already asked but i still have trouble. At 0:59 you extrude the edges until they clip. It seems like they snap on to each other. Whenever i try it it doesn't snap and i have to do it by eye which i think creates an unwanted face in the middle of the bridge. Edit: Just tested it, i don't think the edges overlapping is the problem. For whatever reason there is a face appearing in the middle of the bridge that fucks up the whole mesh if i delete it. Thanks in advance and again, thanks for the great tutorial!
@hbitproject

Hello and thank you! It is just a mirror modifier with "clipping" turned on. Then you can simply extrude along the relevant axis until it clips 👍
This is actually fantastic. Is there anyplace where we can buy these assets you made ? Would love to have them in one of my scenes. :) But again this was a brilliant tutorial. ❤

Your mouse key preview is hiding under the operation window at the bottom left corner. Can you please place it to an other location? Thanks for the tutorial.
Hey great tutorial. I have a question right at the beginning. Whenever i hit shade smooth i dont get a "rounded" edge and the bevel+subdivision modifier are not giving good results. Do you by any chance know what might be causing this?
@hbitproject
11 ай бұрын
Hello, do you have a picture/.blend file to share?
can you please include the reference images for the modeling
I've only faced one issue and it's apparently my subdivision that's revealing the curves' edges in the middle and at the corners, pretty much everywhere the vertices meet at 12:41. So far I believe I've followed everything precicesly the same but for some reason my subdevisions are giving me issues when I use the shrinkwrap. Your curve at 12:43 is so beautifully smooth where mine is revealing strangely revealed edges and corners.
@hbitproject

Hello! Are you sure you have your modifiers in the correct order? (Subdiv first and then the shrinkwrap). Let me know! 👍
@ReverseAltruism

@@hbitproject Hi! Thanks for replying so soon! Yes my modifiers are in the same order, Bevel then Subdiv and shrinkwrap last. You see the little dents in the curve at 12:13? Those dents of mine remain until I select the curve_bmk but as soon as I add the vertex group, my dents return. 😅

@@hbitproject Oh my gosh... It was all my fault, you explained perfectly I just did the most stupid mistake considering I have 3 thousand hours on blender. I know its not architecture but I would love a tutorial on making a tire, making the tread and having it wrap around properly is hard to pull off.
@WaterShowsProd
9 ай бұрын
It's similar to the method he uses to put decorations around the arch. Create a piece of the tread and apply a curve modifier with the curve running around the circumference of the tyre. Adjust the number and edit the size of the tread until it matches up properly. You want to make sure it's set to allow the tread to bend as it goes round, unless you are making caterpillar treads for a tank or construction/heavy industry vehicles.
What addons you use?
First of all, thank you very much for your work! It's exactly what I need! But of course there are still questions :D I'm probably just overlook something. I followed the steps until 12:40 and now I realise: Your holes for the rosettes are square, mine are not. Of course I could make the arch narrower now, but somehow I have the feeling that you managed to do that without paying explicit attention to it. Am I mistaken?
@hbitproject
7 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you! The holes are obtained by insetting each single face of the arch, so my guess would be to check the topology (maybe you extruded and didn't use the mirror modifier when adding depth to the arch at the beginning?) Cheers!

@@hbitproject First of all, thank you for the quick answer! I have now looked through my old save files (someone very clever recommended that I use several files for such tutorial videos) and rebuilt the beginning. I think it's really only because at 1:08 you chose the width of your arc so that the faces are square. I made my arc wider and the holes are now rectangular. I can still change that. Have a good evening!
why not use displacement for the embelishments
You did a great job, but does anyone like to see European-style architectural modeling methods made by 3dsmax? That's my area of expertise.😁😁😁

When I add the Mirror Modifier and mirror in X and Y, it ends up recreating the circle. When I mirror in X and Z instead it turns out right as a semi circular arch.

Hello, I guess you haven't rotated the mesh/moved it a bit from the center
I make step by step with your tutorial but i found some problem, because i can't disable rounded courner in the upper wall. when i turn off then is problem with mesh and geometry. so i dont know is blender with full of bugs or other problem. You have also round courners.

If I understood your problem you can simply select the two edges at the corner and crease (SHIFT-E) them 👍
when I mirrored the impost profile it didn't go to the other side of the arch. it just merged and became a whole impost by itself. I don't know if you still read these comments but I would seriously appreciate It if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong
