As a constant wannabe painter, I find color the most difficult part. I love it too much and have no finesse. As I’m watching you paint, I see my “instincts’ at such odds w your control and eye. Currently the best way for me to really u derstand why I have so much trouble w portraits. Valuable lesson. Thank you.

For me also a wanna be artist I don’t get how they mix the pre colours then just destroy them as they go I find getting the right tone difficult

Slow motion painting to beautiful bird sounds. The subtile yet deft mixing of skin tones and the tiny wandering brush strokes... I haven’t felt this relaxed in so long.

I've not tried portraits till now in 34 yrs this man helps me in that. What an inspiration he is. Hats off Caesar

I don't know anything about art but it was funny watching him initially fill in the face with different areas of the face with dark and light paints because it was just the same way as the makeup gurus on here who show how to contour. Light down the nose and the middle of the forehead, dark around the edges, and darkest under the cheekbones.

I love the Zorn Palette! I've used it on a few occasions and I've been wanting to make videos on it lately too. Thank you for sharing this with us!

I love the Zorn palette! I used to be averse to simplifying things in such a way but now I really do think these colors are almost all you need. When I work in layers I will introduce I few other colors for the glazes (blue for veins, alizarim crimson or magenta for very pinkish parts, burnt sienna for added warmth) but you really don't need much.

I enjoyed watching you paint this face and I also enjoyed hearing the birds chirping, as it's winter here.

this is really such a nice portrait perfect example of mixing.. i am just learning and you made it very easy to understand thank you so much.

I have portraits on by To Do list, and haven’t worked on them for 40 years.....Thanks I needed this.

Se ve bastante magnifico el Retrato y de sus combinaciones de Colores desde los tonos de sombra a luz del Negro a Blanco Titanio y ya sea desde los tonos claros a oscuros del Amarillo Ocre y Rojo Cadmio y además como combina la mezcla entre el Amarillo Ocre con el Rojo Cadmio desde lo claro hasta lo oscuro para pintar cualquier no solo retratos sino de modelos con métodos de observación más importantes ya sea desde la fotografía dd un Periodico,Revista,Internet,etc gral.
