Thanks for this. Just put concreted a big shed base and watched your video to remind me how it's done - last concreting done fifteen years ago and then only assisting my builder mate. A great reminder of how to get it right!

Great invention, the Irish tumble dryer. 😊
Always remember priming the big mixers with a touch of oil to get them started in the morning, on the building sites back in the 1980s

That brings back memories Jim , trying to turn over a diesel mixer on a cold morning used to nearly break your arm until you got the knack, then it was a piece of piss 😂😂, Many thanks for watching Jim 👍👍
Thanks for the video very helpful. Can't believe how many "experts" found it necessary to watch this and then criticise! Muppets.

And did you lay that slab with the mixer? Wish I had a mixer had to mix by hand 18 bags of 20kg of premix into a wheelbarrow the other day1

What kind of sand is it?
1-2-3. 1 cement, two sand, three rock. finer mix is stronger. dry mix and then add water.

Is it new or 2nd hand ? If it’s new no, if it’s 2nd hand doesn’t surprise me, or it might not be screwed on fully, cheers for watching 👍👏

Thanks bud, yes it’s brand new but maybe it’s just the drum isn’t perfect in circumference and it’s just wobbling because of that
@BuildingwithBudd

John Just unscrew the drum and take it off then screw it back on, shouldn’t be to much wrong with it, Chuck a mix in and see how it goes 👏👏👍

Can I pour the mixed concrete into builder’s buckets, or will it spill everywhere?

The other way is mix up in the mix let it mix then turn it off and shovel in buckets or top the lot on the floor and shovel it that way, whatever works for you 👍

Brick later always got me to put lime in the mix but that was for laying blocks and bricks
jus use 12 shovels of sand and half a bag of cement lol also ur meant to throw the water at the back before it falls lol are u an apprentice
Three words people ' buckets ' ' not' 'shovels' obviously this depends on how important the the strength and consistency is for the particular job but as a video tutorial it's wrong to put it out as you did like
The title "how to mix concrete " --- this is some hodge-podge morter-mix because there was no STONE or GRAVEL in the mix. Going to crack, break, and crumble no matter how it is used. Use 3 parts STONE or gravel,2 parts coarse sand, and 1 part Portland cement for REAL concrete. Or just buy the bags of redi-mix concrete. WHAT ---stone & GRAVEL are EVERYWHERE.

@@BuildingwithBudd This 10mm must be something from another territory or sort. Must have some special universal qualities built right into the batch. Could not see it through the air waves. Happy shoveling & mixing ,Sir.

the stones, if there any must be very small. This is more like SCREED than concrete. the strength of that floor isn't that strong.
5:1 its very weak
