    After shoe shining in the military for over 20 years you start to pick up techniques along the way. after I acquire the mirror shine, I use a pair of woman’s stockings to give that final boom “see yourself reflection”. I cut them up in pieces and keep them handy at work/vehicle/bag for quick touch-ups. The material of the stocking is perfect for a Final “chrome” buff. Stretch it and buff the tip of your shoe. And yes I’m a woman that’s very particular of her mirror shine.

    Great video one thing that might help with getting your shine faster and help get more of a mirror shine is using isopropyl alcohol. Mix it with some water. Beautiful shoes and great video . . . Thanks! I went to their site to order this same shoe . . . It says it's made of Vegano leather. I never heard of that kind of leather before. Can you tell me what Vegano leather is? Also, I saw your other video on how to wear light brown shoes. Other than a light grey or tan suit, can I wear it with other colors. For example, would a pair of tan trousers with a navy blazer work with this color shoe? Appreciate your comments on this.

    5200 subs! Well done sir! I love this video. Quick question for you, are you concerned that the side of the shoe will flex and crack the wax? I’ve got a pair that’s similar to that and I’ve found them to flex a bit farther back on the long toe cap. If not, I might try this on mine!

    Beautiful shine, brother Vladimir. Mrs Riché likes it when you are mirror shining your shoes. At least for now you won’t be getting into mischief! 😂 As to mirror shines, since both saddle soap and renovateur have wax in them, don’t put wax on the areas not to be mirrored. The contrast makes the shiny part look even shinier.

    Hi, I’m get my first pair of custom TLB’s on the Picasso Last. They are awesome, but the trees don’t fit that nice, in the vamp area the leather is not touching the wood and is not stretched, maybe because It’s G width. What is your experience? Thanks

  • @roberttudisco4798
    @roberttudisco47986 ай бұрын

    I have a question about my TLB Mallorca shoes. I recently purchased a pair of whole cut Museum Calf Burgundy Artista shoes. They are beautiful and fit perfectly. The problem I am having is that the mirror shine I put on them is incredibly fragile. It chips off and flakes after an hour of regular wear. At first, I thought that it was because I mirror shined them too close to the vamp. I removed the wax and then shined just the very tip, but the same thing happened. It also happened on the rear quarters. Is there a coating on the shoe that has to be removed? Have you ever seen this before?

    Funny you mention that as I’ve heard someone else say that too in a tutorial video. But in my case, they’re the same length when I’m done. That’s because on a 5-eyelet shoe, the first eyelet don’t really count since they’re even and your lacing each side twice. Watch that part again and you’ll see what I mean.

  • @eyeheartsushi2212

    @eyeheartsushi2212

    4 жыл бұрын

    Vladimir Riché I noticed that you were on an odd number of eyelets and the laces ended up even. Was not expecting that. You’re right that the first set of eyelets doesn’t count so technically with a 5-pair eyelet shoe you’re lacing a 4-pair. So maybe the general advice on KZread has been backwards all along. One has to go uneven on the even pairs...Yeah, that’s the ticket 🤔

  • @v_r_

    @v_r_

    4 жыл бұрын

    Eye Heart Sushi You gotta be careful with those KZread guys, man LOL. But you’re exactly right, with a 5-eyelet shoe or any uneven number, you’ll always end up with the lace tips even-as long as you start it even-if you use my method.

    You’re welcome, bro! Unless you notice that the leather is cracking from dryness than I wouldn’t. My reason is because the inside is the part of the shoe that usually retains moisture from your feet, so it’s never really dry for too long to crack. Unless, you don’t wear the shoes that often end they’ve been sitting for a while.

    I think the mirror shine looks pretty good. I noticed you didn't brush between the coats of polish. How long did you wait between coats?

  • @v_r_

    @v_r_

    What’s up, Steve? I didn’t brush the wax as I didn’t use that much on the whole shoe, mostly on the toe cap. You never want to brush the wax as the way to get the mirror shine is to have a few layers on top of each other. If I had used a cream polish, then I would brush it before applying the wax. Hope that helps.

    Finally tried a mirror shine. The wax I used was the same color but it came out much darker, a burnishes/patina/antiquing look. Not sure why. Also didn’t reach mirror shine kevel

  • @v_r_

    @v_r_

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yeah waxes can be real tricky. It’s always advisable to try a little on the heel first to see if the color matches the shoes before you proceed to the more visible parts unless you want a little antiquing of course. How long were you working on the mirror before you stopped?

    Vladimir Riché I’m pretty sure the leather is fine, it’s an Alden shoe, their version of the walnut strand. Saphir light brown polish. I went for half an hour. I renovateur the night before, and saphir cognac you start. But gave it plenty of time to rest. Not sure if it’s too much wax on at each application? Live and learn I guess. I’m fishing for tips on #shineyourshoes Facebook page.

    I see someone in the reply mentioned microfiber cloth. Want to have a try, and i found a store call footfitter, price quite reasonable, anyone tried before? I am using Cotton cloth and some shoe shine expert are using cotton pad. I found that unless the cotton cloth is extremely tight weave, or using the cotton pad very carefully, A lot of time some micro cotton threads are going to undermine the mirror shine

    How do you tie your shoes properly when your lacing method ends on the inside? I agree with not crisscrossing, but you need to do one crisscross on the last pair of eyelets in my opinion

    Do you shine your shoes for every wear? Or every few wears? Do you just do cream polish for maintenance or do you always use wax? Post a video on it man, we need to know about proper maintenance throughout the year.

    Being that I have less and less time now with shooting and editing videos, I polish my shoes about once a month but I’m able to rotate them pretty good plus not to mention I have a few suedes that don’t require this type of maintenance. I always mirror shine but it usually last for a few wears unless you scuff the cap by accident.
