You would probably time them on that Romans Road walk right? romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:8,, 5:12, 6:23, 10:9, 10:13 memorized snippets and then you hand out the prescription which would be to ask him to read the bible on his own right?

I love the bible... So thats a good start... I write out prayers and verses everyday, I don't realize, but I am accidently memorizing these verses I am thinking about and writing and praying about.... So yeah. Just a thought for others who wish to memorize. First. Love the bible. Second, write out prayers and verses. Third, quote them aloud in faith a couple times after you've written the verses. And then dont stop loving the bible.

Luxury Car First of all, the crusades should not be referred to as the "Christian crusades." Most of the people involved in the crusades were not truly Christians, even though they claimed to be. The name of Christ was abused, misused, and blasphemed by the actions of many of the crusaders. Second, the crusades took place from approximately A.D. 1095 to 1230. Should the unbiblical actions of supposed Christians hundreds of years ago still be held against Christians? No. 👍

@@joer5627 the crusades were about as inspired by the love of christ as the Spanish inquisition. Some people hate Christians so they check their brains at the door and use examples in history of people who called themselves Christians while doing something we judge as bad in order to discredit all Christian teachings. It's childish. It's banal. That's KZread comments for ya. Basically, their argument boils down to this, "a Christian didnt perfectly follow the teachings of Christ. Therefore, Jesus didnt exist." It's not a sound argument. It's not even an argument really as the conclusion doesn't even relate to their initial point. Ron, keep up the good work my friend, memorizing Bible verses is one of the great achievements of man kind. Very important if you need to fix an umbrella or leaking tap, or build an airplane, to name a few things. I was lucky to have memorized 'In God we Trust'. My employer didn't pay me in Euro's, but in Dollars. At first I didn't recognize the notes I got, but than I had memorized 'In God we trust' and got a brilliant idea. I could spend that, incredible. God had printed each bill HIMSELF, with the HBPM! My employer asked if I still wanted Euro's 'Never!', I said! Sadly, now all is transferred by wiring, but he always gives an 'in God we trust' communication on the transfer. (lol)

The 'elaborate encoding' does take effort but takes info from the immediate memory to the long term if it is reviewed at certain intervals. Now I just need to put the effort into the application of this to scripture. Many thanks, people will be greatly helped if they give the method a go, rather than criticising if they are unfamiliar with the strategy. Bless you.

This is memory control for students to develop their memory skills. A very simple method is go to sleep every night with a scripture verse on your phone and let it play in a loop for about five minutes. In two days you will remember the scripture verse. But remember the best method is to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us while trying to memorise. I can bet on this because im no pastor or prayer leader but i know Psalms 1, 15, 16, 23, 27, 34,, 91, 121 128.byheart, and many scripture verses that I use in my daiy praying depending on the situation. Its jyst that i love to study the Word.and i enjoy praying for people. I have also been blessed with a gift to compose and sing gospel tracks. I have composed and uploaded many on my KZread channel. This gift came to me about six years back. All glory to God

Hey, here's an interesting verse from the Bible that has a similar strand of thought from Deuteronomy 6:6-9: "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Also, as a pointer, the term "heart" in Hebrew includes the "mind" as we think of it. God knows we ought to daily think about His Word. And Deuteronomy underscores this whole idea by giving us direction to make every aspect of our "life" to coincide with His Word. It's like treating life as a gigantic "mind palace" for storing the Word of God.

There's a lot of Bible readers and preachers that memorizes all the text from the Bible, but they don't understand it. The best way to understand the Bible is to bring altogether the words or text on the subject you wish to know by comparing spiritual things with spiritual, then if there is no contradiction on your idea from the Bible then you cannot be in error.

A very simple way is to use the talents that God has given to you. If you are musician, write a song about it. If you are an artist, draw or paint or whatever you do for art a picture of it. If you are an author, write a short prompt or a poem or something about the verse. Since you (hopefully) love and embrace your talent, it will be easier to memorize something of which you are very familiar with. That, or just literally find a song inspired by a verse and listen to that song. If you memorize the song, as many people these days do, the verse comes with it.

My brain does not always remember where I left that jacket, sometimes it doesn't even remember to tell me that I left the jacket on the way out. The way to memorize Bible verses is to share them with people in the discussion, and write them down. If you don't share or discuss the Gospel with anybody, don't count on your memory.

Lol I've memorized over 1000 Bible verses and it seems to me that the best way to do it is to read the same verse over AND over again until you can quote it the go to the next verse and after that one quote the last verse and that verse and keep doing that until you got it all down

Don't rely on your own power, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that God gives to the believer. The Holy Spirit that lives inside of you, is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. The same Holy Spirit is the Spirit that inspired the people who wrote the Bible. The Holy Spirit knows every word in the Bible, and it's the same Spirit living on the inside of you if you believe on the Lord Jesus. Rely on God through the Holy Spirit to remember Bible verses for you, and the Holy Spirit will bring up the Bible verses for you. Absolutely you ought to seek the Lord and read the Bible, but you don't have to rely on your own power to remember them, ask God to help you remember them. It works great for me, perhaps it can for you too

I would say this is true, we should also actively put to memory the verses, and this requires some time and effort. It is our duty to study to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Tim 2:15) using that mind He gave us for His glory! The Holy Spirit will surely help us and bring to our remembrance what we have learnt when we speak to people

Or will that diminish your previous associations you made in that room to memorize the book of Romans?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3

@@Rob.Christian And? You do know that the Christian faith wasn't founded by a warmongering pervert and isn't known for terrorizing the planet, right? Yeah, no amount of quote mining and elephant hurling can fool anyone who is even modestly critical in their thinking. Nice try though! But I do understand that in Islam, it is okay to lie so long as it furthers Islam...
