Usually STANDOVER CLEARANCE or stand over height to know that the bike you want is fit for you. Wow man this is great explaination. My inseam measurement is 72cm x 0.7 = 50.4 so meaning frame size 50 for me.... But i still prefer one size lower. Currently using RB size 48 & its perfectly fit for me.

Okay, ground to groin is 67cm. Multiply by .66 since I'm getting a mountain bike...44.22.... o I divide that number by 2.54 to convert it to inches? Doing that gives me 17.4. That would mean a 17 inch frame?

This video is misleading. 24 inches is NOT a small frame size.

I'm 5'7 and they recommended me a 55cm road bike. That's too big for me imo

That’s the right size if you’re planning to be on aggressive position while riding most of the time. However you will more flexibility if you size down, as you can also adjust your body to be in more aggressive position even if your bike is one or two sizes smaller than the ideal. However you may not have much capability to be on upright at times if your frame is the exact frame suggested. I’m 5’7” and I ride a size 50 road bike. I could be on aggressive if i want to and also i could be a little upright if i want to. If I go for 55 or 56, i have little to no flexibility to be upright at times. It’s always better to downsize. You’re not a professional biker so you probably want more flexibility.

No issues with assembly for me kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

Thank you... that makes much more sense. With the videos measurements I was getting 56cm for a road bike and I'm 5'6. Looking at all the charts online my height calls for 53 and with your calculations ita spot on.

Not true! Maybe in your country bro, in mine everything is measured in metric system, mtb and road and all. Why would any advance civilization use something different?

Bicycle frame and other component sizing conventions are one of the most stupid, irrational and downright useless forms of dimensioning that there are. Ignore all this information, it is next to useless!
