Just getting started with Lurssen Mastering Console. I thought I would download the manuel on my chromebook since i have it on the mac in the studio because it came with product. That way when I'm just chillin in the ole easy chair I can read up on things. But in my search for the manuel I stumbled on this video by the man himself. What more can you ask for. I already have a new perspective on how it all comes together. I'm really convinced now I made the right call. I mean some of us spend hours and hours writting recording arranging mixing and myself I really didn't want to have to put tomuch time in doing my own mastering or just to learn what someone else has already spent a life time figuring out. I mean this is a whole other art form for sure and I don't see how anyone could simplify it any better than the Lurssen Co has done here. I think I'm going to look forward to finishing every project now knowing its going to sound ALMOST as good as taking my songs to mr Lurssen himself and without spending hours and hours tweaking myself crazy. Cheers all!

I used a demo version yesterday for the first time and I was blown away by a precision and finesse of the changes ... I used a different program to first widen a little a stereo field then put the track in to this baby and the job was done ... It took me a little effort to play with the de- esser, but it was worth it ... I wanted to keep those nice highs, but at the end a little de- essing won :)) So there is no widening of a stereo field inserted in to modules, or some kind of tape emulation etc.? But that's o.k. it really has a character of its own, and you can insert already processed track into module so it's no loss, just gain ... Great stuff...

Great job guys! Helps to clarify a lot of speculations on the forums of what the Lurssen Console does and how to use it.

+Corey Gilchrist I think it was getting the plugin to rival the actual hardware that was what made it take long.

I love it! This is exactly what i've been looking for

Before I even watch the video, I have used this plugin and it just works.

I think IK modeling skills have improved even more since this plugin was released 8 years ago. I'm not too keen on his Atmos, but I'm also looking forward to his LMC version 2, which has improved basic modeling techniques. I like the concept of capturing the entire chain.

This looks amazing. Gonna check it out. Dont own a car right now but the option to use the iPad is pretty cool!

This is something new. I have been going out to the car to listen than inside the house to make adjustments.

hi nice video, but why nobody explains that you dont have to import a mix -6db , just import your final mix, because i always thought that we need a mix -6db 24bit 4100 to use for mastering, is it correct or can i use my final mix with the normal volume and not -6db? thank you guys for your answers.

Sounds great on songs with some "vintage mood", however, I'll appreciate a gain-matching feature while it's inserted in the DAW...

I’ve used this on my laptop for the last year, it’s the easiest software to use and the presets are a great help.

How well does the LMC work with precessing before and/or after the LMC - like EQ, compression and perhaps even Limiting to get a higher level?

kickdje nope it’s no adjustable but honestly that eq should be mixed in preproduction. The best thing this does is make your sound bigger and fuller and add limiting compression and maximizing in a way that is fail proof

Cool vid....Interesting product. I use T-Racks 3 Deluxe and I am in the process of upgrading to T-Racks 5 Max. It appears as if it includes the Lurssen Mastering Console. The Console looks interesting. I am in love with the concept of a brickwall limiter at the end of my chain. Does the Lurssen Console have something similar or once the preset is set, then what I see is what I get with no options to swap any of the items in the chain?

T-RackS 5 MAX does not include Lurssen Mastering Console. Note that in Lurssen Mastering Console the presets do have set gear chains that you can't swap but they are meant to be like what Lurssen Mastering would use for projects. You have access to some settings as well as automation that you can use so it is not 100% "set it and forget it" and the "Push" knob is a great way to add energy to certain sections of a song and is also similar to what Gavin and Reuben do when mastering a song.

Is that limiter section goes true peak or not?

If the eq controls on the tube eq what is the solid state EQ doing? Just add different frequencies depending on preset or set frequencies for all presets....

They are different flavors of EQ - tube EQ will impart its own color to the sound as tube gear will tend to do and the solid state results in a bit of a cleaner sound.

It provides additional EQ, programmed to best emulate the Lurssen Mastering process and sound depending on the style/preset

Very nice idea. Most mastering engineers don´t reset their setup and start at 0. They have their basic setup. So this software does the same. With the starting point from a pro ;-) A question: Does the software also do a low cut at about 30Hz to kill the rumble?

could u or anyone tell me.. how to check audio level using VU meter so that audio is better normaliz for any device and youtube with this Lurssen Mastering software.. .?

That’s probably not going to happen with this plugin, only because those levels are a moving target and this plugin is pretty old, pretty basic. It was updated once for use on busses and it’s very useful for that in mixing. It’s still a powerful plugin.

Any updates of this plugin??

Hi, I got one question, I Want to use Lurssen inside ableton live proyects but as soon I do it it gives 3dbs of pure white noise ( air ) on the master chain how can i fix it ? thankyou

That sounds like you need to authorize the plugin. Please run Authorization Manager (should be installed with the product already) and enter your Lurssen Mastering Console serial (found in your IK User Area). If that does not fix the issue, please contact IK Support at www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/mi/ and they'll assist you directly.

Hi, Lurrsen Mastering Console is 64-bit.

Just doesn't quite get loud enough it's like a perfect Master other than being loud enough it almost gets there but it just doesn't any feedback?

Awesome plugin but it doesn’t generate a noise which is frustrating...if that can be resolved will make this a perfect plugin

Hey for some reason the don't mention this in any promo material but there is a hidden brickwall limiter at the end of the chain as mentioned in the manual with a threshold of -2 and a ceiling on -0.2 if memory serves.

It’s a fail safe limiting for protection to not peak but it’s non adjustable

Yes there is a standalone but you can also use Lurssen Mastering Console as a plugin in your DAW www.ikmultimedia.com/products/lurssen

Please i downloaded the windows version of Lurssen Mastering Console but can't extract the RAR file it keeps asking for password before it can extract, and there is none in the file as well

We don't use RAR files nor do we password-protect our zip/DMG files. You would need to download from your IK User Area www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea under "My Products"

Lurssen Mastering Console works as a plugin in your DAW too on Mac/PC and you can use a metering tool (like the one that is free in T-RackS) if you don't see the metering information you need in Lurssen Mastering Console itself.

or you can take your car speakers inside your studio

i thought cars speaker are mono in general ... but he said he is testing it in stereo :/ or is it just this BMW model has stereo setup? even still i dont the necessity of a car test ... if you want your mix to sound good in mono you should focus on mixing in mono more thn stereo . if it sounds good in mono in your studio it will sound good in a mono car or whatever
