So incredibly true. Ive watched at least 25 card trick videos that I understand perfectly but can't perform no matter how much I try. I guess part of the trick requires a certain level of dexterity that not everybody has

The only thing needed is practice. Nothing maters other than this, your original dexterity does not matter. Your hands do not matter. Your deck does not matter (you can even do perfect faro with old poopy deck, I do that every days). Just be confident that with enough practice you'll get it and in a certain amount of time you will be able to do it

Tips that help me. 1) make sure your cards are air-cushion finish (i tried the first time with normal Maverick and was very hard to do it (probably because i'm a beginner with cards) 2) don't need to apply to much pressure. Just a little. 3) use the corner to start the movement. 4) slight lateral movement After half day practicing i finally can do it. Hope any of does tips helps at least one person.

the math behind card tricks is really interesting. I'm more amazed by the lengths magicians go to to really learn their decks and the muscle memory required to perfectly cut and perfectly shuffle all the time than I am by the actual trick. The balls it takes to put both your memory and your handling together into one trick and be confident that you've done everything perfectly is always impressive.

I've always wanted to do this. It looks so satisfying.
Been using the faro shuffle for ages but the mathematics behind the faro shuffle and how it can be used to position a card in a specific location in the deck is new to me! Thanks Chris! Even when you cover the stuff I think I already know I always still learn stuff!! 😄
How do you make the cards weave into each other though? It feels like I'm just smashing two blocks of wood together

I love how you always add history and tell everyone a little bit about the card tricks and all ❤️❤️
Love the FYI pieces. Love to learn a little history behind shuffles. Makes it more interesting
I've seen many Faro tutorials. This by far is the best and most in depth explanation out there. Thank you for sharing your depth of knowledge with us. Ever grateful!
I've tried about 10 different tutorials for this shuffle and this is by far the best... Took me about 3 goes after watching this to pick up the technique and can now doing repeatitively! Thank you!
I absolutely love this shuffle, and i found it really interesting to learn even more about it. I know how to reset the deck, but I currently only use it to look cool. Thank you so much.
Anyone struggling with this may be making the same mistake as me - I just could not get the cards to weave. Finally I realised I was gripping the sides too hard. I moved my fingers back slightly and slackened my grip and the weave just did itself just like they do in Chris’ excellent tutorial.

honestly,I´ve been looking for a tutorial on this for ages. This is the first one that really explained how this works. Would love to see this one handed.
This is the Ultimate guide to the faro shuffle thanks Chris for spending the time and effort on it!!
'This is not going to be a boring video' *Starts off with the history behind it all*
No Way! I recently went to tannens and saw the guy who created this deck and they look sick. I told him that instead of doing an Omni deck u should switch the deck out for a block of wood
I remember seeing this as as kid and being completely blown away, thanks for the history, theory behind it _and_ a tutorial I could actually follow
Thanks for this Chris Ramsay! I will try to incorporate some better shuffles in my own videos. I really appreciate how much in detail you went, including finger placement which helped a lot.
I am addicted to Faros, and I’ve been waiting for this tutorial to see your take on it! Well done, Ram! Note: Great practice tip for learning to split the deck evenly: practice in New Deck Order. 8 Out’s return the order, as Chris said. Learn which cards are at the center after each perfect faro. You can use these as a reference point. Putting a deck into NDO is also a g way way to practice culling :)
AHH I WASN'T READY FOR THE MATH
I did my first perfect faro shuffle thanks to your video! It's been a long time coming, but it now makes a lot more sense. (Okay. I haven't done one since, but now I know it's a possibility and my faros are now 200% easier to do with only 3-4 cards out of place. Now all I need is practice, practice, practice...) Thanks, Chris! This was awesome!
Im just getting into cardistry/ sleight of hand. Learn something new to wow my kids. So far your videos have been some of the most specific i have seen so far. Your method of teaching is right up my alley. You got my subscription. 👍

I’m new to this stuff, and I just want someone to give me some tips on how to practice this because right now I’m having trouble getting the cards to like weave into each other( I have tried turning the cards upside down it didn’t work same result occurred) the cards just don’t ripple as they are supposed to do. I watched this video, probably when he first put it out, and it taught me to faro. Well I learned how, but I always had problems getting it perfect. It’s funny because I couldn’t figure out why my cards weren’t working out right at the top and I didn’t think rewatching this video would help, so recently I looked for other videos that might give me the extra tips I needed to get a perfect faro but none were helping. Finally I came back to this video and watched every detail and was able to correct my problems and get the perfect faro I’ve been looking for. I still have a lot of practicing to do of course, but I was able to figure out the little things I was doing wrong.
Absolutely one of your dopest videos yet. Thanks for dropping the knowledge on us. Lots to digest, but great stuff. Cheers.

This video is so awesome. As a math lover I've thought lots about the principles of the faro shuffle. So I love the math background you gave at the beginning. I'll check some of that literature. Really cool about Elmsley going so deep with it. It reminds me of a mathematical proof that was published, showing that blackjack is a beatable game.

Of all the Faro shuffle tutorials ever created, which one is the most complete, exhaustive, and thorough? In other words, the absolute best.
I got it to go once but I am also practicing with cut corners on my deck... will wait to get home to practice more. Thank you for the visual instructions.
Thank you so much. I've been trying to learn to do this for along time and this helped me out tremendously.
Your last advice about the cutting if cards helped me a lot thank u very much
little details make all the difference, am just starting learning and have struggled with this for ages....... then watching this you mention about the way they are cut makes a difference in whether to start bottom up etc.... boom I got it! haha great vid
