The most insane combo is New Castle with Mad Maggie. Use her tactical on your tactical and you've got a flamethrower shield! View is cluttered with Maggie's tactical and you can push hard with it :D

I like a longbow or sent with a r99 The sniper is good for quick scopes, tagging and peak shots and r99 is just perfect

Scout/volt. Since you aren’t engaging you want to be able to support and the scout is spammable enough to provide cover fire and finish off weakened enemies. Volt is my favorite up close weapon, I know the car is better but I love me a volt.

So here's a little trick with Newcastle, IF AND ONLY IF YOU HAVE A GOLD KNOCKDOWN, revive your teammate during a fight, it sounds odd I know but if your low health and you start reviving your teammate with a gold not only do people not know what to do your teammate is up with a good bit of health and it's now a 2v1 with even playing fields, this trick has saved my ass to many times to count

You can sometimes even do this with a purple knockdown and still turn the tides. Even without the extra health the enemy now has two targets to shoot at instead of one and it can be a good way to sneak some extra damage while they’re busy trying to redown your teammate.

BROOO frrr I came here just to thank you, you save my FIRST MATCH AND FIRST WIN just because I litterally fucking revive 2 of my teammates with the gold knockdown shield in the last 1v1!!! Hahah the guy could do nothing because of my ult and tactical, pls do what this man said it works 100%

Even without a gold you can use the shield to block shots mid gunfight and then cancel it when the enemy reloads or u can stick the res and use the teammate as a meat shield to block the first couple of bullets lol I’ve noticed without a gold they’ll usually go down immediately but those bullets they take for you can be useful to winning a 1v1

I have main’ed NC since his debut in S13 and I’ve been looking for ways on how to improve Mobile Shield tech. The grenade push is something I don’t think I would’ve figured out for a long while- I got so giddy when it was brought up. Also, I love running shotguns with him. Personally, I like Rampage/Flatline/Volt with PK/99/45

This is great. I’ve played a decent amount of Newcastle and out if all the Defensive Legends, he’s the only one I actually enjoy playing and is super under utilized. Just yesterday, I was playing and, long story short, managed to push the other team we were fighting by dropping a Mobile Shield and charging straight at them around a Catalyst wall to end the fight. I spent the rest of that night chasing the high I got off that Mobile Shield push 😂

Pk is mandatory on Newcastle most of the time you make a castle wall that means theres no cover there and the team has to push me that shotgun does wonders with the a purple bolt only times I've ever won a 1v3

Newcastle is easy to learn, the wall you can out against your opponent, but the thing that i find a lil challenging on controller and maybe pc users?.. i have to hold my controller in a certain way when i rez my teammates to take them in a safe spot. i love playing newcastle, i’m a team player, i’ll go for the rez and try get my teammates behind cover if we’re in a open field where enemies can see us. guiding the tact was a lil hard for me cause i didn’t know you can move it, pressing the same button you released it with, i’m new to using him so i’m learning alright. 😂

I use my shield to bait and switch, in lanes and such I’ll send my shield forward and push from the opposite direction

A good idea i havent tested is comboing mad maggie drill with new castle shield to make a mobile mad maggie shield

The constant raise in inflection into waterfall for every point drove my autistic crazy ass over the edge. Its like a computer trying to sound more human.

Dont be afraid to play aggressively with NC. You can easily push teams off of cover with the ult. Also a castle+loba,vantage,rev, or octane pad combo will allow you to stun slam a team with the wall and have the rest of your team insta follow up with the push.

One more thing you can do is you can deploy the mobile shield and do a finisher behind it.

Every team needs a Newcastle for playing ranked this season. The ability to set up for end zone + extra cover from 30-30 repeater that everyone is using + revive + craft banners it’s a no brainer

Also if you hit enemy directly with wall it pushes the back and highlights their body with a glow

It's honestly baffling that he's the 2nd lowest picked legend next to Crypto! The main argument people make is that he's boring to play which I understand since all the higher picked legends are movement legends. He's definitely slept on though!

Yeah makes it so much smoother/easier to turn. I didn't know for a bit as well

I hate how if you use your ult it will move your tac shield as well, got me killed quite a few times!

Hey Grizzy I noticed in a match I couldnt land on a teammate's banner this season even though he was in range( maybe I didnt have LOS but the ult usually ignores that) Did they patch it or something?

I can test it again but I thought you could jump to deathboxes of teammates. Maybe it was past 75 meters?

Baiting his revive is so clutch. I just cancel it when a solo is charging me and melt them.

So for the passive if you revive a teammate and the enemy shoots up your shield it's goes back to a white shield? Or how long till it recharges? Can you still drop the knock down and pick up for instant refresh?

There is a regen mechanic where if your shield gets broken while reviving it will take time for the shield to regenerate. You could just pick up a new one to immediately have it regenerated

@@MrM4rvelous I believe you can just drop the knockdown and pick it back up. Unless they patched it. Probably takes a good 60 seconds or so for it to recharge normally

I had a catalyst wattson newcastle combo this season that was giving my team sooo much grief. We ego challenged, which was a terrible play but somehow was able to get knock em. But it was a formidable defense for sure

Okay random but something that I notice: good players on apex are somehow not fazed by only having one little 25hp and continuing the fight lol I just choke at that point they knock all three and just heal after lmaoo😂

dropped my first 2k (2.5 actually) with newcastle after sleeping on him for 2 seasons😪

Newcastle is so dead not the legend but the pick rate and his popularity honestly they need to do him justice and give him a heirloom early😤 (I'm totally not a full time newcastle main with 150 heirloom shards in my inventory waiting on his heirloom)

Hahaha he's insanely good. I would say him and Seer are the strongest legends in the game

Another good idea is to combo you ult with someone movement like loba or vantage or maybe even a octane pad so you can go far and make cover which is perfect for rotating into open zones and engaging fights

As a Newcastle main my main go to is a 30-30 scout or longbow paired with a smg
