PSA: Do not try this if your garage door is stuck in the open position. If the spring is broken it could cause the garage door to crash down. You should only try this if the garage is stuck in the closed position.

Depends on what your trying to lock out? The physical movement of the door or people using the remote from the outside. If it’s the remote, you can do this on the wall controller. As for physical there should be a manual lock where you push into the tracks. They also now make an auto lock which we should all look into.

This works even if you have their remote. You usually use this trick if your child safety sensors on the door jambs are misaligned or garage door just won’t close all the way down itself. If they have your remote, do this than lock your garage door on the control panel so remotes can’t open your garage door.

Get a power kill switch

This isn't manually locking anything. Just click the remote again
