Great tips mate! Really struggled in season one only picking up 1 point at Aston Martin, but just finished 3rd + 4th in Bahrain season 2 thanks to research + swapping in Ocon + Gasly as drivers!

100%, if you get a full safety car, you want to conserve tyres and fuel and harvest ERS

You could do, but you'll drain the battery pretty quickly if you aren't careful!

Legend I've been using the ERS wrong. I'll start using overtake out of last corner

Deploy is Better then Overtake when trying to pass someone or have the fastest lap

Deploy is better over a whole lap, but overtake is perfect for getting a huge boost down a straight to overtake

You should explain the ers. 1 lap harvest 2mj and and use 4. So…if you are on the final bend and you already spend 4 you wont get any ers. Rest of the video was solid. Thanks

Yeah I think ERS is quite a tough thing for people to understand, if they don’t follow F1 really closely. Glad you enjoyed it though

Any tips on holding a position? I'm in the 1st season with McLaren and that's been my biggest trouble, along with tyre management. After I overtake, I should be back to Standard, but the distance wouldn't get longer... So in the end of the race, I struggle with the tyres and lose some positions...

This is all very dependant on which track you’re at - the biggest thing is if you can break the 1 second gap to stop them getting DRS. Also maybe look at improving your drivers defending too! You can also try to save a little on tyres/fuel/ERS if you’re behind another car and then look to push everything late on

Get video bro started with Williams and I am struggling was able to score points out of a massive turn 1 crash but other than that it’s been 16th at most but hopefully seeing how you manage your team during a race will help. I’ve always just stuck them on attack the whole stint and I forget about them

It’s tough when you take a lower team - I’m running a Haas career on Twitch and about to finish season 1, managed to do some crazy development early on and secure some good points. Sticking them on attack is great, but watch the tyre temps! Managing ERS can be huge for gaining places too

Yeah there are - I had an engine fail in FP1 and my reserve driver had to stop taking part...lost xp haha!

Yeah the engine and gearbox and ERS system degrade over time and you have to swap out new ones during the season.

Hi. Might be a weird question but I really don't understand some of the ers options, what's the difference between overtake, deploy and neutral?

Not a weird question at all! Neutral is basically your standard usage of ERS, where they will deploy the battery a small amount, which doesn’t drain it Deploy is basically setting it to ‘hot lap’ where they will deploy a large amount of the battery over a lap, usually the best option if you’re trying to get fastest lap. Overtake basically dumps a huge amount of the battery in order to make an overtake, best used when coming out of a corner, onto a long straight Hope that helps!

Mate I’m on lap 50 with -0.3 laps on fuel I’m running conserve for 7 full laps and the fuel stayed negative all the way to the final lap and it made me DNF

Sometimes it depends on which track and also which engine supplier you have - some engines have better fuel saving than others, fuel also burns when cars accelerate, so if you’ve got a lot of stop/go actions, that doesn’t help either! I always try to make sure I’m positive on fuel for most of the race

What you mean by reduce the fuel? There's no option to start with less fuel. Or there is?

When you are on the menu (before you enter the race), you can set tyre strategy/choose compounds and if you click the on the fuel tab (it usually has about 100kg/‘X’ amount of laps), you can actually change the amount of fuel you out in - 110kg is the maximum amount, but you can reduce it if you want to

What do the blue and yellow bars mean in the ERS options, why do they go up and down randomly

I’m not 100% sure on it, but I think blue is when they’re using the battery and yellow is how much they have left to use in that lap - I could be completely wrong though! But I’m real life, they’re only allowed to use a certain amount of battery per lap

Yellow shows how much ERS is being used while the blue is the recharge, so when the blue line shoots up it mean it's charging. When yellow shoots up it means you're using maximum ERS.

I think my games bugged attack makes me slower even just after I press it overtake makes me slower the only thing that seems to be giving me a bit more is deploy and if I go push on fuel I go slower any advice or is my game just broke?

You’ve kind of got two options - put some effort into the current car, upgrading the underfloor seems to give out one of the biggest boosts if you put some hours/wind tunnel into it. Other option is put a load of research for the second season, it just means that you’ll have to struggle through season one at the back! I’m doing a Haas save on Twitch and should be finishing 4th in constructors as I put a lot of time into developing the season 1 car - once I hit the mid season break (after the Hungary GP), I started to put loads of time into the research for Season 2. Time will tell if it pays off 😅

You can sign drivers whenever you like - but you can't do it around a race weekend as they are 'too busy' for other things!

very nice video, just one quick question. How do you activate DR Ash or is it something that is automatic? Silly question I know but I don’t seem to be able to do it.

No such thing as a silly question! DRS is completely automatic, you have to be within a second of the car ahead when you cross the DRS-detection line on the track :)

You can’t go into push mode for long, only use it when you’re trying to close a gap quickly or if you need an overtake

@@MattHeyhoe My main problem is when I leave it on standard It's normal for like 3 laps and then It suddenly drops under -1 lap. But tha last race I did in barcelona was pretty okay in terms of fuel

Does the same apply in a lower car like Aston Martin or is that slightly different

Same will apply to the lower teams - a lot of this info is taken from my Haas save, that I stream most days on Twitch
