Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here's a real easy way to make your own bed base out of softwood timber.
This is a perfect solution to making the ideal bed base without spending hundreds of pounds.
In this project I am making a Super King Size bed, but this method can be used to make a single, small double, standard double, and King size bed.
You can do without the center slat support if you are going to make a single bed.
This DIY bed project is perfect for all skill levels, so whether you're a seasoned DIY enthusiast or just getting started, we've got you covered.

Thank you. I am going to make this bed frame. I've been looking at building plans and I like yours the best !!
Suggestions: Make the legs high enough to enable you to use the large area under the bed for storage, e.g. suitcases, mother-in-law, etc. Also, cut out a rebate on the bottom of 2 legs, to allow the bed to be pushed up flush with the wall & avoid hitting the skirting board.

You definitely don't want a bed pushed up flush with a wall. You want some airflow to discourage mould growth.

@@carl8568What fucking mould grows in your house?? Mould is caused hy damp - not by a wooden bedframe Jesus fucking Christ
Loving the option to disassemble and reassemble, mainly because people move, and it's far easier to move this heavy thing more quickly and safely. Thanks!!!
I didnt even think about using hardware for the bed frame, usually all the videos that pop up are all joinery techniques that take a long time to prepare. This makes it much easier for people without the proper shop. Also liked the beer scene in it lol
This is the best king frame design that I’ve seen. Sleek modern lines. Simple and elegant construction. Great work!

Design engineer and many years ago taught joinery and cabinet making. This is by far the best instructional video I have ever come across.
I am going to scale it down for my dogs bed, fencing two of the four sides. This is a beautiful, simple, sturdy design. Thanks a lot!
Just built this for a full-size mattress and it's great!! Thanks for the amazing video! It felt amazing to be able to build this by myself and not have to go out and buy one.

I have watched many videos on DIY bed for a similar bed frame. I am fully satisfied with the design,it's making and the mode of presentation. One of the best designs I found in internet. Thanks for the simplest design. Nice job well done.
Nice! I think this will be the template for the frame I plan to build next month! Thanks!
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for , Justin. Job well done.
Thanks for the great idea. I was thinking about buying a wood bed frame but I never thought about building my own.
Best one I have seen yet, thanks for sharing this bed frame idea 👍
LOVE-IT. I will try it really soon and come back with my results!
Had this tutorial video and cut list tucked away for a few months. Just completed the bed frame build for EU king size, as per all the spec. It’s a solid beautiful bed frame! Plugged feet post counter sink holes, added a salvaged piece of maple as a headboard. Thanks so much Justin🍻

I am so going to build this bed!! Awesome work.
The best part of this video was the mandated beer break. Cheers, mate!
Quick , Simple & clean, most importantly , you are able to disassemble it, I'm going to make it with some slight alteration particularly taller legs for the headboard. Great video .
This is great, learning from you is awesome, and what's good is that, now you can actually make your own king size bed. Cheers and can't wait to see your next videos.

Wow Exelent Work Done. Thank you for sharing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Love it! ❤️
Great looking forward to making one for myself as well 😀
we just built ours fallowing along. first proper bit of furniture we've ever built. cheers :)
Thank you! The first time I saw a video where one can make a bedframe by themselves, without spending on costly machinery :) which is normally the case...
Beautiful finish,i will make one myself.
Hi Justin, Just to say we followed your video, and have completed our double bed. Our local wood supplier was most helpful, when we told him what we were attempting. We chose to make the (head end) legs higher, at 39” (100mm), and the foot legs 20”(50mm). The upper legs we have included to horizontal bars, thus giving us a headboard. Comments so far have been positive, we tell them it was from your site. 👍👍👍👍

Me encanto tu video, he buscado en KZread varios videos y sinceramente este es el mejor, super practico. Espero poder animarme hacerlo ya que me da miedo usar el taladro. Saludos desde Cali-Colombia (Sur América)
Good work, I like the corner hooks for future undoing/moving
Beautiful work!! The bed frame looks great. Thanks for sharing.
This was the best video! I looked at every KZread for a bed that I can make and take apart when I don't need it in the mini school bus we have. Your explanation is the easiest for me to understand and Ive ordered those brackets from Amazon too, as I once had a bed with them- totally fits my need!

nice job. im thinking of adapting ur design to use IKEA slats. you could staple some 'tape' between the fixed slats to prevent non fixed ones from moving too much .
Excellent i wish i could do one for my cal king

Hello My British Amigo!! I am a Latin man living in Canadá!!! I watched some other videos on KZread how to build the best and easiest bed frame. I was about to give up with someone else's design when your video came up!! I AM SO HAPPY!! I watched yours 'cause is THE BEST!!! my friend !! The easiest to put together and and take apart for moving purposes. Pretty looking clean frame and must have for sure nice aroma too. I don't like to copy-cat 100%, but pretty close..I will just make one small change in the little piece of wood that goes in the center from front and bottom of 2"×6" to hold/support the 2"×3" timber that hold the slots across. Congratulations I give you 100% ☺️👊👍Muchas Gracias🙏..Hasta Vista🙋AMIGO..!!SALUTES desde Alberta, Canadá

Hi Rolando, did you make this bed in the end? If so, could I ask what change you made to the little piece of wood? I feel like that is the only week spot in this design. It's basically a 1" strip of wood holding the 2"x3" (it's only as strong as it's weakest spot, and the screw is going to doing be most of the work).
Well done!!
Great video man, thank you so much. I'll definitely build one for myself but I'll make it flush with the mattress, awesome

Great job buddy ❤️
Hey thanks I like the way you build it I will build one for my wife.
It's a great build with basic tools I would love to see a build of a rectangular bed-end Ottoman for this bed.
Great job 👌🏼👍🏼
great work thank you so much
When I seen how strong the bed was rabbits came to mind.
Cool mate, loved it
Very nice job and beer breaks are essential
Maybe in the UK that’s a super king sized bed, but I can assure you that’s a Queen sized bed. Nice frame either way

I'm in Australia and that bed is bigger than our Queen. Our Queen is 1500mm wide, SK is apparently 1800mm wide. Our Queen size is the same as their King size, not Super King size tho
5:50 I hope you meant "when you assemble it"..... 🤔 LOL!!!!! I really love the simpicity of your design. 🤘😁
Good job done ✅
❤❤❤thank you for sharing you idea I am.inderd great full thank you
nice! looks awesome
Awesome job Mate!! I got a question, how far down are top of the support slats from the top of the frame, 1 inch, 2 inches? I'm wondering how much depth the foam mattress needs to sit in the frame to keep from sliding?? I'm building a twin size wooden bed frame.
I like the simple design and clean look. I was wondering if it would be best to use a hardwood for the posts.
When a bed is made, your bed cover hangs down near the floor completely hiding your frame. When your asleep, you don't see your frame either. So I made my bed frame for under $100 using construction lumber. The trick is to get the longest planks of wood to where after your cuts are efficient. I used 2 long planks of 2X6s to complete the perimeter. I would miter the corners using a miter saw and draw it into itself using a cargo belt strap. Diagonal measurements were identical. Then I would mark for 4 holes and drill an 1/8" extended wood drill bit to be a pilot hole. Then I would make the primary drill for basic affordable pan head screws that don't split wood. Remember to save your all your saw dust. 4ea screws in each corner is only 16 screws. For the center column I used 2ea 2X4's and hanger ties and 16 drywall screws. Now over the course of a few months, I stopped at a building site and asked one of the workers if I could pick through their wood scraps. He said, "knock yourself out". I found three partial sheets of 1/2" plywood that cover it perfectly and could be screwed down to the 2X4's and rails. The perimeter rails were cheap 2X2's. Dot's of glue every foot and a screw made for a rail much stronger than it needed to be. The legs were left over 2X6's. I made the bed high so I could make a big trundle
Can the bed rail brackets be easily taken apart after the bed is built? It looked to me that the interior rail supports would block access to the brackets. It would be great to be able to partially disassemble the frame, since it would not fit through a doorway or down most staircases for future moves.
I built this bed. It turned out great but I did add a couple elements. I added heavy-duty corner braces and spacers for the slats. I like to turn my mattress now and then and don’t want the slats to move.
I look the look and the simple design. Very cool. I'm hoping to build something very similar in April or May. When you set up the slat supports on the side beams, how much space did you leave between the end of the slat support and the bed bracket? It's hard to see in the video. How much space do you need to loosen off the bracket bolts in order to take the sides of the bed frame off? Also, how did you make the plugs to cover the screw holes? I know that it's possible to get plastic plugs from Home Depot but I have found it difficult to match up the colors and shades.
Great job
very nice, skillful
Liked for the content subscribed when he broke out the beer! Cheers!

Nice job will make me one i will use 2 by 4 joist braket and instead of slats use plywood
So I made the same thing thanks for the video
very good work
Such a great and neat work🤩👌👌 well done 👏👏👏
With the slats, you could permanently fix wood spacers along the rails. That would keep the slats from moving around too much.

That was my idea. then the slats can just sit in place and it would be easier to break down for a move.
